Sorry Paul, but I am certain that there might be a general problem with the VPP755 pump. As recorded in a bunch of forums (mostly german ones afaik) the failure rate of these pumps is quite high, as it may look like a D5 variant, but it most certainly is not, as the internal contstruction is completely different and it is made in a more "cost effective" way by Alphacool. I would swap those for some real D5s from one of the other brands like EK, Swiftech, Watercool, Aqua Computer ...

What is needed is algorithmic light displays. Describe what the lights are and where they are located in the box, then let an algorithm actually apply affects that could ripple through the box either left or right right to left forward backward up and down or some combination of those. It really probably would not be that tremendously difficult to create such agreements and then your box would become sort of a a work of dynamic cart that was constantly changing.
@Zarcondeegrissom6 жыл бұрын
I could imagine something like DMX being useful for that, and just use stage light control soft to map out where all the lights are in a comp. It would also be sort of funny as well. I'm just not sure how you would control the GPU memory and motherboard LEDs via DMX.
@wbwarren576 жыл бұрын
Great ideas. I think there’s a lot of room here for innovation. Putting together I’d show is based on flipping bits manually just doesn’t seem to be desirable or practical. Nor does it seem to be something that’s going to result in a really interesting light show.
@Zarcondeegrissom6 жыл бұрын
agreed, and given how every part of a comp needs it's own soft, GPU, case, keyboard, motherboard, pumps, fans, etc, it's almost as bad as the old days of HP/Dell taskbar bloat when the component control soft isn't kicking not detect errors on boot up, lol. I do agree that setting a profile one bit at a time is tedious and I don't know what DMX soft is better for setting collections of lights, I've never fussed with it myself, it has got to be better than most "RGB" apps I've seen so far. Just a quick Google search, and compared to ProDMX (for example) the RGB soft looks archaic at best. www.chromateq.com/64-chromateq-pro-dmx.htm If RGB soft was that good, and worked with everything via a 'standard' interface, I would not be so cynical about RGB. It would even be better if I could set the RGB to things like memory usage on the DIMMs, CPU load on the CLC pump, GPU load on the graphics card. Or simply trigger off the music I'm listening to for each song with its own effect and colors.

I really love the look of the 1000d. I've got a 500d RGB, so it's like this big version of what I have, along with the same gorgeous fans. My favorite feature of iCUE is being able to overlay effects. I personally run two Arc effects over a Static effect on the fans; The top arc is blue/blue, the middle arc is blue/light blue, and the static effect is white. They rotate in opposite directions, both at slow speeds. Alongside all the other RGB lights being blue pulsating to white/light blue, it gives it this great-looking ice effect.

I hear about pumps failing way to often with water cooling. Seen multiple youtubers systems fail. My H100i died, my roomates EVGA AIO died. Literally 100% of the water cooled systems in my apartment failed in one year. Air cooling is cheaper and much more reliable. Custom loops can out perform air cooling but at the increased risk of leakage and corrosion/buildup/cleaning issues. Air cooling just needs to be blown out to clean.

Im running both the iCue and Aura in a similar setup to yours but on a little smaller scale lol. In the Aura software at the top just disable all the options except for the motherboard and set the colour and effect you want and then close it, then either reboot or go back to iCue and switch to a different profile and back to the one you want and it *should* work. Once I disabled the DRAM in Aura on mine I could control the lights on the memory just fine with iCue and no interference with Aura.

Got this case, and I love it. But hard tube for me, i know it has those quick disconnects but the result is brilliant :P I also got messed around with iCue software. And pretty disappoint I can't control standard rgb strips with commander.
