When the detectives went to the apartment, there were chicken feet on the coffee table and I’m not sure what was said to the cop, but later on he was told to pour a line of either salt or flour (can’t remember) and I think walk over it to “remove the root” that the thief put on them. 😂 I live in the damn backwoods of upstate SC and had no idea shit like that was going on around here.

As the daughter of a cop and the Ex of a DEA agent....I hope Alex Maisonette wasn't a cop for very long. He's fucking clueless. I also grew up in Miami and know a little bit about Sanitaria. They were trying to get that cop to quit because animal sacrifice is illegal and - if he's truly practicing that religion - he's a cop who's constantly committing felonies. What gave me the creeps about the movie though is that Maisonette and the others in those all white outfits. Those are the same kind of outfits that the Miami based cult Yahweh Ben Yahweh used to wear all the time. That cult finally broke up when the leader was accused of murder but got off on a technicality.

The thing that drove me crazy during this is - everyone who hurts or kills someone seems to get away with it, while a bunch of innocent people get hurt in the crossfire. And it was nuts how this "curse" had such terrible aim! Like, if Maize was targeting the cop for revenge, why did he manage to curse everyone *but* the cop? And then the cop getting off?! I mean, I know that happens in real life, but that's not justice! This was the first time I started questioning Maize's morality, because it was ridiculous.

@@LoveTrueMusic1 Yeah, that's where the part where I know that happens in real life came in. My problem was that the movie portrayed that as the RIGHT outcome. Officer James faced zero consequences for his behavior outside of a really weird nightmare, and instead everyone around him suffered for his actions.
