Try to get the cats fixed. Because they multiply like crazy. There are many programs in a tri county areas and a lot of rescues organizations will give you coupons to have them fixed. SPCA have events to bring in ferals. I have even taken cats 40 miles away to get fixed.

As @Dtra 1313 says here, please report this practice to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for professional misconduct or negligence. If you go to citizensadvice.co.uk, they have a whole section on what and how to do this and it does say on there that: *"Negligence must result in harm, loss, injury or damage of some sort. For example, a vet might prescribe an inappropriate course of treatment and your pet dies or is permanently injured as a result".* They do recommend you complain direct to the practice concerned first, but it sounds from what you said in your video that they don't really give a monkeys about what you've got to say anyway and their treatment of both you and Nutmeg was cruel and unfair. Please don't blame yourself - it's not your fault and you tried to do your very best for Nutmeg. She was such a sweet-looking kitten that that practice robbed the life from with a drug that was far too strong for a little kitten like her. I am so saddened for both her and you.

Im watching your video at 1:30am and hearing of nutmeg just breaking me inside man, Im literally getting goosebumps watching. Im not a cat owner, loved dog most of my life. Only recently I have started to grow fond of cats and kittens watching funny shorts. I have a little kitten that i catch running and hiding around in my backyard often, in our garden we have a lot of foliage from plants my moms growing, pumpkin, eggplants etc among other htings. idk how to approach it or feed it, I have left some rice out which it seemed to reject. Seems like a poor little thing. On my house security camera I once saw it cross the road in front of our house, although inactive other than few cars going by now and than but still my jaw hit the floor. And than for some reason it sat right outside of our house gates for a good ~30 mins just looking onto the road, like it was meditating or something. I still have no idea what it was doing, I approached it but I was brought up to fear wild animals. And recently learned of rabbis and other illness adding to my phobia of animals. So I couldn't get myself to touch or pet it. But I still see it in my backyard time to time, still no contact. And Nutmeg just reminded me of it 😥😥 this is fked up nutmeg did not deserve this. Name drop the clinic and the doc. So I know who to hate for life even if I will never require vet services. Maybe nutmeg rest in piece.

This video is especially incredibly sad, but it's very important to know about. It's also important to see the actual impact it has on individual life rather than playing a numbers game. This medication should never be the first-line treatment. When a bad reaction happens, the animal is stuck with this still in them for 3 weeks. It can and often is the end of the animal, and in a horrible way. It is heartbreaking to see this happy little girl become so fearful and start having constant seizures. But watch, remember, and try to use this terrible loss to help prevent others from suffering this same fate.

This is so sad. Listening to this story makes my blood boil. Thank you for rescuing this lovely kitten and trying your best to help her. It was unfortunate that the only vet who was available in an emergency was a callous individual, masquerading as a vet. It appears as if this vet has a habit of irresponsible treatment of animals and denying culpability. She should be punished and have her license taken away. If you are a vet and you don't give a dam about the suffering of your patients, you have no right treating vulnerable animals. Sleep well little Nutmeg, you are not suffering anymore, but it is likely that with a more kind and professional vet, not a quack, you may still be alive and this is awful.

I swear I for genuinely cried watching this remembering my Cat known as 'Moon' who passed away... It was a male cat actually, a wild street cat fighter, he used to roam out and return... One day Moon went and on Saturday night it came with some swelling injuring on the stomach... We used to give him rest and all but on the day we were about to take it to Vet... When I was awake at night, Moon came and sat in between my legs as I was laying on the bed... I pet him and he slept, I picked up Moon and rested it on the soft bed we all made for it with clothes and everything else, and I slept... When I was asleep, my mother saw Moon jumped, collapsed on ground and made its way to Bedroom, Moon wanted to see me..!! After my mother brought it to me and my sister's slumbering forms, she took it back on the cloth bed, and Moon started drawing last breathes..!! She called me and I woke up in instant, my Mother brought Moon in Bedroom, we talked to our Moon, I pet it and then... It was gone... I literally am shaking typing this message... Rest in peace, Moon the first... I burried my beloved pet in our backyard, placed a flat stone on the grave and even still, the grave is easily in view when we go to the backyard... I named another cat I had as 'Moon' but... Damn the original, was just original... You're missed buddy... You are, and forever will be..!! 😢❤

This legitimately made me cry for an hour straight… It reminded me of my grandmas cat named Rudy who imprinted on me and followed me around everywhere. He would follow me to the bathroom and wait for me outside the door. He took a shower with me once LOL. I had this special way to call him, all I had to do was pat on my leg and he would come running. He also had some bad days where he wasn’t in the best mood so I would sit with him and talk to him till he was okay again. He was a beautiful orange and white tabby but oneday I noticed he had an eye infection and was getting skinnier. I begged my grandparents to take him to a vet but they said he’s fine. I continued pestering them about it till they took him. They diagnosed him with diabetes and they didn’t want to pay for his insulin so they put him down. They didn’t let me go to the vet when he got put down and it made me very sad. They got him cremated for me, I keep him on my nightstand and put flowers by it every once every month. When I’m sad I hold the box and pet it pretending I’m petting his fluffy body it makes me feel better. I sometimes get visited by him in my dreams but I’m the only one that can see him. Did you know, there’s a place in the afterlife called the cat house it’s the shape of a cat and all the cats that ever died go there. I saw it in a nightmare I had but Rudy came and saved me and took me to the cat house so it wasn’t all a nightmare. To be honest with you I’m allergic to cats😢. I still love them though and would take care of them because why not❤. I haven’t had an animal go through something that horrible before due to my own human ignorance. However I do know what it’s like to lose someone you’re so attached to❤.

I am in tears that you tried to help her and things turned differently. I cannot imagine. I have a cat that sometimes makes friends, they are feral cats and am afraid to have them checked for cat illnesses only to find out they need to put them down. I did that once thinking I would get it fixed and bring it home but the vet took the cat away and said he could not release it. He euthanized it. I went there to have her join our family and instead it was euthanized. I was so so sad.

This actually happened to one of my cats. My cat named cinnamon had an eye infection too, he took the same medication and they didnt tell us the side effects. Cinnamon was peeing himself and having seizures too. He was not acting normal, truly heartbreaking seeing an animal you love pass, but suffer. Prayers up to cinnamon and nutmeg ❤✝️🙏

I sympathize with your efforts to help sweet Nutmeg. I took a stray to my vet's office for a blood test. He was on vacation and his substitute vet let the vet tech draw blood without supervision. The tech severed the young cats jugular vein and she died within a few hours. The only way I found out what had happened was by taking her body elsewhere for an autopsy. This memory will never leave me without pain and guilt. We try our best but can't always know about those who do not. Take care; you did your best and were let down.

This is so sad 😭 , so sorry for your loss. Thanks, also, for raising awareness about Convenia, I'd never heard about it. The vet that gave it sounds awful, not just for giving a tiny kitten an antibiotic that lasts 65 days without a good reason, but also for denying it caused her neurological symptoms. I'm sure you won't go back there again. RIP Nutmeg 🐾💕

Please don’t blame yourself. You just tried to help her the best you could with limited options. Those vets made the choice to give her that medicine and didn’t inform you what the side effects it had or it’s background. It’s not your fault for trying to help even if things went this way. She is out of pain now and I’m sure she knew she was loved based on the clips. You gave her so much love. You’re a good person. Please don’t forget that. I wish you well ❤

I'm sorry for your loss. This is one of the most harrowing cat videos I've seen. I'm an old boy of 74 now, and a lifelong cat freak. If this had happened to me, I would have been hysterical and would probably have cried myself near to death. Thank you and bless you for the love and care you gave Nutmeg. You should consider another cat ... not to replace Nutmeg, for of course that can never be done, but as an outlet for all the love you have for them. There are so many cats that need it desperately. And change your vet.

Poor sweet girl. It's a vet's job to know what their doing to keep animals healthy. This was cruel of them to give to her without giving you any sort of information prior. I'm so sorry. This is 100% on the vet, not you. One of the vets in my area gave our cat so much anesthesia she almost died. Same vet we had taken our dog to her for vomiting and pooping blood, and without even exaimining her, or even getting a stool sample, they went "I don't know" charged us $400 dollars, and sent us home. Luckily, both of our pets ended up okay. But it's another example of vets who don't know what they're doing and don't care about the animals they 'treat,' (I know people like to know vets to avoid, and idk how many people live in Missouri, but this was the vet in Ava, Missouri.)

This honestly was one of the hardest things to look at, it makes me so mad that a living being had to lose it's life because of incompetent vets like this, this is so wrong and fucked up honestly. Im a grown man and it made me tear up which usually never happens, I really feel bad for all of this but you did the best for him, you loved him and cared about him, rest in peace Nutmeg.
