Goodbye, Roslin - What happened to my MR2 Spyder

I bought my MR2 Spyder in July 2015, and it turned out to be a bit more of a project than I was banking on. Here's what's I replaced/updated:
1ZZ engine out of a Toyota Matrix
New clutch
New flywheel
New struts
New Tein lowering springs
New misc suspension pieces
Rota wheels, eventually replaced by 949 6UL wheels
RE-71R tires
New shifter cable and base bushings
New Che underbody brace plate
New eBay exhaust header
New Magnaflow catalytic converter pipe
New Che Lotus-style exhaust
New brake rotors and pads
New PPE cold air intake
New/refurbed alternator
Celica GTS seats
All new fluids
It met its end in a parking lot this fall. I learned a lot, and I'll be moving on to the next project.

You were the reason I bought the Che race exhaust for my mr2. I love the sound with gutted header and catback. I get lots of compliments. Thank you for all the videos. Sorry for your loss. All the best, and hope your channel keeps on rocking!

Damn Enya music and then a crashed Spyder in my face made me wanna cry. I’m glad you’re handling it decently though, sorry to hear. I can’t imagine losing my Spyder, food for thought in parking lots.

I have a 2001 black mr2 5 speed and I love it! The only flaw is that the cubby holes behind the seats are too small but I love my spyder! Lol im a female and my interior doors and everything in the front is hot pink and black..im about to order a body kit and have the whole car painted hot pink with lime green decals..It took me forever to find this car Lol..It only has 54000 miles on it..So...what color is yours?💝

Also, I know the safety failure itself isn't funny at all, but as a fellow tall person I find the fact that your head cleared the airbags amusing. I have similar issues in any small vehicle I drive. Oddly enough, I've also found it hard to adjust seats to fully support my thighs and legs because they end up being longer than the manufacturers assumed haha

Man that sucks. When I had a Miata, I was always worried if people could see me. I ended up driving really defensively. That's an interesting point about the airbag. The MR2 has my interest as a cheap budget build car over the cost of a new Miata.

This scares me. I'm in the middle of my rebuild and it scares me for 2 reasons. 1. Losing the car after that much time, effort, and money. 2. Older small car so the lack of safety, especially since everyone is driving SUVs. Congrats on this build and taking something away from the unfortunate ending. Good luck with your future car.

That's a bummer but there is rumors that Toyota and Subaru are teaming up again to make an new MR2 but I wouldn't get my hope up just yet.

And Celica, but I have a feeling it may be a disappointment. If they can keep the weight down on both idk then, The need to step on the look department, the 86 is fine but I'm worried that Celica will be built off the Corolla and look ugly.
