This is a great real world exploration of the Wrangler 4XE. This was fun. To bring that price difference in to perspective between the gas Sahara and the 4XE Sahara, there are a lot of standard features on the 4XE that are optional on the gas model. So to compare apples to apples, we have to load up a Sahara with a lot of those things. In reference to the mode explanation at the 3:40 mark, the Wrangler 4XE doesn't get 49MPG. The vehicle is rated at 49MPGE when in electric mode. MPGE is different from MPG. As an example, the Model Y is rated at something like 140MPGE. I loved the part where you were playing with the navigation. It's frustrating. I use my phone. The built in navigation just isn't as easy to use as Google Maps. I love that open charge port door at 7:29. Been there, done that. Agreed. The short range stinks. But I've been able to cover a lot of my daily driving in electric mode. My last tank lasted 1200 miles.

We're enjoying our Rubicon 4xe as well! I like the plug-in hybrid aspect. In the future, Jeep (and especially RAM!) can just keep increasing the battery capacity as appropriate, but keep the gas engine as well (and large gas tank in larger trucks).

@@carholic-sz3qv I don't think anybody is suggesting EV fueling comes for free but is normally a tiny fraction of the price of gas. For example: 300 miles - EV $25-30, ICE $140ish depending on where you fill up if on a road trip but if home charging you'd be looking at $12-15ish or free if there's rooftop solar. Plus EV maintenance is negligible; mainly tyres, tyre rotation & windscreen wiper fluid. Positively 🥜 in comparison to ICE maintenance costs.
