Stu, the game may be easy, but getting good at it is hard, especially the closer you get to scratch. I was one of those golfers who had a very difficult time understanding (or dare I say, believing) that we actually move the handle of the club "forward and down" in our golf swings. But I watched Tour pros, especially the ladies, in very slow motion and was amazed at what I saw -- they were acrtually pulling the handle "forward and down" just as you said. From that day forward, I was hooked on your channel and have come to realized that you know what you're talking about as opposed to most other coaches, be they YT or otherwise. Keep being the contrarian and telling us the truth that actually helps us understand and improve our swings. I, personally, am grateful for the knowledge. Now, when I see others playing, I can see flaws in what they're doing, but I say nothing because I'm not a coach nor do I have the training or enough knowledge to advise anyone. We amateurs must all be careful of giving advice, because a little advice is a dangerous thing, besides, as my father has told me many times, when it comes to advise: "wise men don't need and fools won't heed it." Cheers.

stuart, good day. I have watched nearly all of your videos. The grip video was the best so far for me at least. Because of that video, my swing is now effortless, as the hand position on the club seems to square up the face without me having to think about it. Keep these quality videos coming!!!!

Stu, great video as usual! You clearly define the swing correctly and back it up with trackman figures. I have become a loyal follower of your theory on how to swing a golf club. You clearly make us golfers understand the needs to use the body correctly to swing the club the way it is designed. I haven't heard you talk about golfer's physical makeup are all different and how that affects the swing. Does a person with longer arms or legs still swing on the same swing plane as a person with shorter arms or legs? Im sure club fitting will make a difference but posture at address will still be different. I like to hear your take on this.

Hi Stuart I got into a lot of trouble early with my weight shift as I focused heavily on moving my weight between my feet. Which gave me a reverse pivot dipping left shoulder and early extension. My favourite shot was like a rouge shank because I had to push off my right foot on the downswing as the majority of my weight was on the front foot. I now transfer/ shift mass or weight between my hips so to speak and allow my feet legs to figure it out without any manipulation.. could you please do a video on showing how to correctly shift mass so it can work as a power source.. thanks again John

Dear Stu, thanks for your videos; I recently started seeing dozens of them. A question about this video: I notice a certain difference between when you show the phase of pulling the club forward and the subsequent push down (minute 7:38 of the video) and the complete swing at normal speed (minute 7:45) where the pull forward phase is less pronounced. I ask because I have a lot of difficulty doing in speed what you show in slow motion.
@GoodGolfCoaching8 ай бұрын
Hey Carlo - everything you see is on point, there will be other issues in your swing that stop you applying the pull forward Sir. Sorry I can’t be more precise without seeing your swing. Best wishes Stu 😊

Hi Stu Was asked the other day what my "Coach" teaches us about posture and drills on posture especially with fuller shots with pitching wedge and gap wedge etc when you are bent over more and have the more upright swing ..i feel it would be a good follow up to this control of the bottoming out or not of the club with the left and right hand control ..i think he was infering more of the Body control for height through the swing .. which is the belief of many people that is the body that is in control of them duffing the club through dropping their posture ..im sure you know what i mean cheers Graham

Hello my friend. Work has been kicking me square in the satchel for the last month but I’m through it and have some catching up to do. On the rare occasion that I’ve been able to hit balls, my path never gets below 3 degrees in to out. Actually, I’ve pretty much been stuck there all winter. Maybe I need to find a box? Broom? Anyway, hope you’re well my friend. Warm regards, NWH

Great video Stuart. New golfer here so this may be a stupid question, should the spine to club angle be the same for all clubs including the driver

Hi David - a big warm welcome to the game! Yes, that would be a really good place to start with shaft to spine relationship. Hope that helps.

Just for clarity. If you push down with the left hand and pull up with the right you get your hands in the same position as if they were cocked at the top of the back swing? If you then pull forward and pressure down with the left still you effectively swing the club around you without uncocking the wrists. So where does the release come from? I find this fascinating but also confusing. I was a single figure player for 40 years and am now struggling with old age and infirmity so would love to get this right. Please get me out of the fog. Really enjoy your videos.
@GoodGolfCoaching8 ай бұрын
When you try it, youll feel it... but, in answer to your questions, there is still unload of the wrists on the plane you are referring to. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu 😊
@trebor57608 ай бұрын
Yes this is what I struggle to get. When I do this drill I just feel myself working against the uncocking the wrists want to do and so get a slow clunky swing. I must be missing something
@GoodGolfCoaching7 ай бұрын
What you’re feeling is the force of the head pulling to the earths core and why you must support this through your postural angles and shoulder strength. 😊
@trebor57607 ай бұрын
Thanks for the response. So trying this it feels like the release is different because it comes more from forearm rotation than from the wrists?
@GoodGolfCoaching7 ай бұрын
Feels are different for all, but the drill should deliver the correct motion. Whatever you’re feeling is just for you 😊

These are good videos. I do all these in practice.. (beautiful swing) but when it comes to actual swing .. whether it is Driver, 3/5 Wood, Hybrid, 5 Iron , … I seem to hit just 170 plus or minus 10 yards… 😂😂😂 Swing speed possibly 72 -75…… what are possible causes.. Do you have a Video on why this ?? Is it possible that my impact loft is a 5 Iron loft no matter what club and swing speed 72 avg - and just the extra length of the driver adds merely 10 yards???!!! I used to hit driver abt 230 (abt 8-10 years back)…… If you reply - how do I know you replied?? Can you put it on your website? Am I the only golfer (hacker) with this problem ???? Thanks. ‘
