“Sitting in my recliner, doing my thing.” You sound just like me! Thank you for your videos. Yours are the best on KZbin in my opinion. You take it slow and explain and best of all I can see what you are doing.

Made my first today. Done great, especially with 1 and 1 1/2 hands. Almost 2 weeks out of surgery having my thumb fused and a small bone removed from my wrist. I can move my fingers and that’s it. And I’m going SO stir crazy and remembered I had these looms!!! You have saved some of my sanity 😊

When you come to the last peg, whether it be the third in your "section" or the last in the row, it looks like a U-knit because of how you're holding the working yarn behind the peg. Does that affect the way it looks or behaves in the end?

My fist attempt was a disaster! It was sooo tight. Trying again with different yarn. I think the first was too bulky but it did lie flat between two pegs.

I’m going to loom a blanket for my toddler! Which stitch do you suggest I use for his blanket? I’m going to use the super bulky Bernat yarn

Ok I'm knitting along with this series and have found the flat stitch simply impossible because of how tight it's ended up each time. Either I'm doing it wrong and it's fixabe or simply meant to be this tight and I hate it haha. Either way, the flat stitch is not for me.

kattie Stokley I totally understand. I’m sure tight on the flat stitch and try to use it only when needed for a tight stitch or socks. Many times it’s used in socks to make the gauge draw up smaller when the loop pegs are too far apart. You can try to work looser but it’s good to know what this stitch is in case called for in a pattern. Much of your tension when beginning will ease up after lots of projects and practice. It does get better. I would move on to the next one. ☺️

@@GoodKnitKisses Thanks for the response! So i had been using my sock loom and tried several different yarns in varying sizes but just could not manage this stitch on a loom that small so I sized up to my 24 peg round loom like you show and I was able to do the stitch that way. My goal is to loom knit socks at some point so I'm not sure if I'll ever manage that. We shall see.

kattie Stokley you can also use the uknit stitch for that. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. ☺️❤️

I have a loom that has about 40 pegs on it or more. What do you do with it?

Hi. I just subed your channel. I have a question, can i substitute a kfb for a yo? Im more comfortable with a YO. Its a knit chevron
@GoodKnitKisses
@GoodKnitKisses 4 жыл бұрын
Purple Butterfly Thank you so much! 😍💕 Yes you could. However it will make a larger opening than a kfb. It does make a nice eyelet hole for a chevron so I think it would be pretty on that kind of pattern. I wouldn’t use that method for say a sweater or something requiring the increase to not reveal skin or something behind it.

I've found a decent chunk of videos showing how to switch from a purl row to a knit row (and vice versa), but how do I make alternating purl and knit stitches within the same row? There are so many patterns I like, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it on a loom.

One stitch at a time. You can individually knit a stitch and then purl a stitch. Be sure to watch the purl video to make one. If you are working from needle patterns you make all Right Side rows the same stitch as on the pattern. For needle knitting WS or Wrong Side rows you will need to work a knit when it says to purl and purl where it says to knit. It has to be converted to RS or Right Side for loom knitting. That’s getting ahead of these lessons but it sounds like you may need that due to your statement. When you do get to that point I have videos and blogs on converting patterns though.

Any advice on why my flat knits are so spread out? They're tight but the "v"s are all tight and look almost ribbed. Im using weight 4 on a 3/8" gauge loom
@GoodKnitKisses
@GoodKnitKisses 3 жыл бұрын
They are likely still stretched out from the tension of being pulled width-wise on the loom. Try tugging downward. You can also block your knit afterward to make it relax. Basically wash it and lay out flat. I do have a video on blocking. But the main thing is hand blocking first by pulling downward to relieve the tension. This works when it’s all off the loom.
