In 2018, while attending a car show I noticed a beautiful car in the area reserved for Rolls Royce/Bentley new models. I thought that it was a new Rolls model, but it turned out to be the new Genesis G90. I considered this model to be the nicest, understated example of a full-sized luxury car with the best body lines. The new car price at the time was in the low 70's which made this car a fantastic buy. In 2020, I found a beautiful, low mileage first year example and paid only $40K. My G90 has turned out to be the best, most reliable car that I have ever owned. True, understated elegance for a very reasonable price. By the way, my research indicates that this model in South Korean or Western Europe sells for a much higher price. It seems that Genesis wanted to penetrate the American market at any cost.

@moogle687 ай бұрын
Do you remember what you saw the G90 going for in Asian/European markets? I'm curious how much of a discount we are getting for them to try for an invite to the 1%-ers club. Honestly, as good of an argument as the G90 is for Genesis being more universally considered a luxury brand, the mass market Kia/Hyundai SUVs/Crossovers that they have been coming out with more recently look so fantastic compared to the competition that they are moving public perception of the brand up market on their own. It's a good sign for any brand when your newest models for consecutive years are so good looking and popular that people are _happy_ to pay $10-15k over sticker in order to ensure they get one. Now they would be smart to work on their reliability, because while they do offer the best warranty available on new cars, I've heard it's hard to actually _use_ the warranty when things happen, and looks will only get you so far if reliability is lacking.
@boblacks9457 ай бұрын

i adore old vw watercooled cars, and my favorite all-time wheel design is the "snowflake" that came on the early 80s GTIs and was optioned on others like top trim Jettas. so the BBS/snowflake design to me is just fantastic. i absolutely LOVE these wheels. they cross elegance with sport in a very nice way that can appeal to the sporty look or the classy look. winning. overall, it's an excellent looking car. it has great clean and soft lines, i love the grill and double slit headlights that im seeing on all the new Genesis cars. it's both aggressive and simple at the same time. their design team is on overtime, and they are absolutely nailing it. from what Hyundai was years ago to today, night and day. their leadership and teams are knocking it out of the park, home run. that is a fantastic machine from nose to tail, 10/10 would drive. and i HATE al new cars that arent full EV, cuz im one of those strange vw freaks... yeah, i do have meetings and therapy about it haha

I have been wondering when you’d get around to Genesis. My wife and I have a 2013 Genesis and while it’s not as nice as this G90 but I’ll admit our Genesis sedan is a great car. We have been many many places in this car and is very very comfortable on long drives it does all I could ask for in a sedan. The 3.8 V6 is 333 hp a non turbo motor gets 30 mpg on the highway and does it in total comfort. She bought in 2019 for 15k and so far its has been trouble free. I’d buy another one again. There will always be people who don't care about a brand's pedigree. They will choose lesser models and kid themselves (They think It's just as good). It takes year to develop a reputation (Mercedes, BMW, Porsche). You can't be a real luxury car just by copying luxury features and saying you are a luxury car. The day you can sell a Genesis for the same price successfully as the Maybach will be when they are regarding as the same. Don't believe that, ask Audi or Acura (Phaeton or the NSX)
