Some of your screw holes, for the stop sign for instance, can have the screws put back in... it will save you some bondo work. The lights that you bondoed over can be covered with an extra piece of sheet metal, with holes drilled in the right spots, some seam sealer, you can cover those up with a process called "rivot bonding" with the right kind of rivot and a manual rivot tool. That can save you some more bondo work. This can also be done to attach sheet metal in areas you want to cover windows. Rivot bonding is strong, sometimes stronger than welding, and a lot of times, seals better than screws. You can also put these rivots in screw holes you don't need anymore and paint over the rivots. They last a really long time. And they are cheap.

Another awesome quality video! As others have mentioned and it's not too late. You could reinstall those upper lights for more safety. 2 brake lights used to be standard on most cars. Now the standard is 3 with the addition of a third hight mounted brake light. In your bus you have the opportunity to have 4 brake lights and 4 turn signals. Your old ones were in bad shape you said. Why not upgrade and install some LED lights. Not just the bulbs (which would be an upgrade) but some of the new LED assembly's that have like 25 bulbs inside. Just a safety idea!

Hey Good Morning! You guys are doing great! Your family is precious, I love to see how you and your wife are teaching the kids life skills, and it's fun to see them working on stuff too! Also you hit upon a BIG Topic about Bus renovation I think not many video's have touched on. It is being afraid to try something new, or the I can't do that kinda syndrome. I equate this to my life, as it has always been a dream to make a bus into a camper, [I'm 57, I've dreamed of this all my life, since I was 5 saw a bus project] maybe kinda afraid, or felt oppressed. So I wanted to tell you, it has been my faith, that is working with me to let go of my fears, anxiety etc, and do stuff outside of my comfort zone. With Jesus, anything is possible! I mean, God has hooked me up with people to encourage, learn from etc...it is amazing. Sometime I waiver on this. I'm excited to get working on my bus conversion, I bought mine last year, and decided to take it to a place to go through the mechanical, engine, transmission, that kinda mechanical stuff and make it roadworthy [had them evaluate it before we got started-some rust on frame] but I thought it would be better to have professional check out before starting on conversion. Praying about the money too, as things have escalated a bit, and put things behind a bit, but that is ok. I'm a self employed electrician in CT, and business seems to be feast or famine, but my dream is to take this sucker out west, see the parks, visit relatives, friends, see some more of the world! [And Glorify God doing too!] So it's a journey, I've taken some video's, my video stuff is pretty pathetic, but I'm learning. Check out my Utube channel, Allen Rousseau. So I've been praying about this stuff a long time, and now finally believing, and not being afraid to try another endeavor. We adopted kids later in life, God put us on a journey there, took 5 years, Started my business in 1991, still going, so many things. So he has us on a most incredible journey as we embark on things outside the comfort zone, only with the help of Jesus we can deal with alot of stuff! So Praise God! Howdy you all ,we're back... not sure if you know this old trick but before you paint that galvanized metal you just put up make sure you rub it all down with vinegar... that will actually etch the shiny galvanized and make your paint stick very well.... as a painting contractor that's what I used to do on all the galvanized gutters prior to painting... everything's looking great

RE the fire ants, I use a mixture of Borax and sugar 1/2 and 1/2 and spread this over the nest. Do it on a dry day with forecast of a few more nice days. The only problem is that the grass will not grow in that spot again. BTW love you vid and your great family. Say good bye to the ants.

Been alot easier to cut metal patches the same size of the holes and weld them in and grind it down and smooth it over with a little bondo and no chance of it coming back out

Hi guys!! Do you know what I did, I hooked the red lights up top to the brake lights and the amber ones up to the turn signals. It works great for being seen and especially useful for towing a trailer since they are up high and can be seen really well. Love how the project is coming along!😊

We had the same insulation in our bus, thought about reusing it for things like you did and we found out that the R value is so low it is not worth using. Would be much better using the spray foam. Need to remember that you insulation is only as good as your weakest points. Other than that the new bus is looking good and like some of your ideas.
