I'll be getting my pixel 3 in tomorrow from Fedex, to the verizon store. I will say I'm excited. I'm coming from the iPhone cult. Umm.. my buddy got a new phone she got this 'Sony' phone which I had no idea they did cell phones. From, what the women said who sold me the phone, is that Sony's phone is banned in the states.. Which, is odd since my friend got one. But, while at the best buy with my friend who got her sony phone, I saw the pixel, and I was blown away at the color contrast and picture quality. Also, since my friend got a new phone, I kinda wanted one. Plus, I was due for an upgrade. I was thinking of the new iPhone, but I really don't like the so called 'NOTCH'. So, I decided to do this whole pixel 3. I was going to get the 3A, cause of the night time photo thinggy, but the women sold me on the 3, because it's the same phone, little quicker, minus the night time photo thinnggy. Also, I wanted a phone thats battery lasts. I'm running on the iPhone 7 and it seems to waste away wicked fast. All, I do is surf the net, instagram, and facebook messenger. At any rate, I'm stoked.

It's funny that people say that they cut some corners with the processor and what not, but it is super ironic that they didn't "cut the corners". if you shut off the Pixel 3a and power it back on, you can see that the corners of the display light up past the rounded screen edges! It's just software to make the corners rounded!

Regular 3 is definitely a better phone - it's just a question of whether it's better enough to justify the much higher price. For most people, I'd say probably not, but if you're a power user then it's a different story - Dom

I'm on eBay right now, looking at a Pixel 3 that's around $350 dollars. The Pixel 3a equivalent is $300. Since the gap in price has been cut down from $400 to a little less than $50, would it be wiser to get the 3? Or is the 3a more reasonable in features? (Note: I have USB-C earbuds, so the loss of a headphone jack is no problem for me.)

The battery life will be the most noticeable thing. The 3a will last much longer. Quite likely a few hours of screen on time each day. Personally I'd go with the 3a

I have a pixel 2 and I am debating upgrading to the 3a or 3. I have a coupon that gets the pixel 3 down to $499 with $150 trade in. Are either phone worth it, or should I just hold on to the pixel 2?

I definitely wouldn't go from the 2 to the 3a unless you're getting the 3a on the cheap too. From 2 to 3... not sure. It honestly isn't a *massive* jump, especially if you're basically happy with your 2 right now. But if your 2 is slowing down or the battery life has degraded, then it's more justifiable - Dom

I would not recommend a Pixel phone. I bought a brand new Pixel 3 XL in March 2019 with a clear defect. Google support took me for an endless ride, 3 month later I got zero progress (More info here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqeclGl3q7uropo). I am stuck with the phone, it will probably end up in the bin soon. If your Pixel works, great. However if you have any issues, good luck with Google's dreadful support. I would rather get a Samsung Galaxy S10 or even OnePlus 7 Pro. Over the years I had Nexus 4 and 5, although they worked great for a while I could accept the lack of reliability like quick battery degradation as those were mid range phones. Now Google is trying to play with the big boys, clearly they've managed to pull it off when it comes to the spec/numbers. Looking closer, when it comes to design or reliability they comes no-where near an iPhone or Samsung (BTW I own a Galaxy S9+ now and S7 before that, outstanding phones!)

This review is so dumb ... pixel heavily use PVC(Pixel Visual Core) for all it's image processing which is missing in 3a and that's the sole reason for not buying it . 3a is bound to perform poorer

Pixel 3a- No original quality google photos, slower image processing due to missing pixel visual core, snapdragon 670-going to slow down and lag within a year cause its not iOS, so better go for pixel 2xl for the same price or if you have money go for pixel 3 ( you'll get fot much less than 799$ now) I have a iPhone 6s that still runs smooth and perfect even after 3+ years but android is surely going to slow down in 2 years.

It's doing well at the T-Mobile in my area. Bought mine last week and it really isn't worth spending $400 more for speed that is negligibly faster. I compared the 3 to my 3a in speed and the 3 is only about a second faster opening apps. Not a big deal to me. The speed is close .

Google isn't trying to make a phone with all the best specs or make it shiny, they are trying to make a simple, optimized, and clean android experience. Leaning more towards people that have iPhones. Pixels have the best camera on the market, cleanest software with no bloatware and pixelized features focused around ease of use and Google assistant. I'm a big Samsung fan and the s10 and one plus 7 pro are the best phones on the market but Google pixel is up there as great phones. They're simple and fluid. Basically people look at Google phones how they look at iPhones. Not about features. Typed on my s10 plus btw lol
