I have the 4a and I love it but man I think I'd want the 4a 5G. Even over the 5. I don't really care about 90 Hz. But a bigger phone, a better battery, 5G (future proof), and a wide angle. Id say that's worth an extra $150

After a lot of umming and ahhing I've dropped for the 4a5g. I really don't see the point of the P5, at it's higher price point when it's basically the same phone with a smaller screen and a bit more ram. The 3.5mm is a selling point too. I'd like to tell me 10 years ago that a 3.5mm would be a selling point!!!

I just got my Pixel 4a (the 4G only version of course) this week and I'm pretty impressed so far and very satisfied. I used a Nokia 8 before and loved Stock Android so that was a big reason for me to choose the Pixel and also the great camera.

Looking forward to the comparison of the 5, 4a 5G and 4a. Considering to get one of them in the near future, most likely the 4a (cheap) or the 5. Honestly, one of the main reasons I'm thinking of the 5 is because I want it to be water resistant. But whether it's that much better than the 4a to be worth the extra money...

4a has some water resistance but its not IP certified. Have a look on KZbin there are some Pixel 4a water tests.

If you want a flagship features like waterproof and wireless charging then you should buy the pixel 5. Although it doesn't have a headphone jack. For me, I'll buy the pixel 4a 5g because I don't need those flagship features. What I need is a headphone port because I just can't rely on wireless buds and worry if they have a charge left everytime I used it.

This may sound dumb but I really like that the black 4a 5g comes with a white and contrasty power button whereas the black pixel 5 does not. It seems metallic and doesn't pop that much.

Please test the display outside. I've heard it's dim and doesn't work well outside. This is a Google phone so there has to be a glaring deficiency somewhere. Just have to find it .

Pixel 4a 5G seems a better deal compared with the Pixel 5 5G. Yes, I know it doesn't have fast refresh rate but its a bloody smartphone! Most of us have 60 hz TVs. I ain't gonna watch Netflix in my living room from a Pixel.

The only two glaring differences is the processor and refresh rate. I really think high refresh is overrated. So a bigger phone with the same cameras as the 5 and a better battery than the 4a for $200 less than the 5. Yeah this is tempting

The processor and camera setup are the same. The screen on the 4a 5G is a little larger and it has a headphone jack. The 5 has an extra 2Gb RAM and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The 4a 5G only has 60 Hz

If someone is considering getting the pixel 4a 5g or the 5. Wait a few month and the 4a, 5g will be around 400 dollars and the 5 around 500. Because that is what they are actually worth ,not more.

I've got an s8 right now and deciding between this or an s10 bc they both have a headphone jack and a good camera. One thing turning me off of the Pixel is the lack of a microsd slot. I'm currently at 115 gb of storage usage from my phone storage and microsd storage combined :/ There's also the fact that it's not water resistant. But other than that, the Pixel camera and price seems to be better than s10, not to mention it's a newer phone... One question though, do Pixel phones have the option for 3 button navigation?

It's not PWM flicker, it's the camera picking up the 60Hz refresh rate. PWM flicker is something completely different.

@@TwinChoc thats actually incorrect. PWM flicker will show on camera exactly in this manner. If you take 2 phones, one with and one without it you will see the difference.

Wrong, PWM is a way to control brightness, it's only visible with a very low brightness setting, reviews are not done at very low brightness. PWM effects screens irrespective of refresh rate, you won't find this type of flicker on any phone reviewed with a higher refresh rate than 60Hz. PWM flicker looks nothing like this caught on camera, this is 60Hz refresh rate captured on camera.

​ @TwinChoc Sorry but you're wrong buddy. Take a look at the Oneplus Nord review from this channel for reference, it shows him changing the refresh rate to 90hz with flicker intact. I believe you're also wrong about it only being visible at very low brightness, PWM flicker will often show even at higher brightnesses, it depends on how the PWM is implemented.

Honestly the headphone jack is something I'm still not ready to give up. So I'll take that over wireless charging. The pixel 5 isn't a bad upgrade, but I personally can live without those extra pieces. Also a good reason to have variety since different customers want different things.
