If I could stay stuck in a decade, I would forever live in the 90s. I’m so nostalgic it hurts and this song just transforms me back to those simpler times!. What a great time to be alive.

I married my high school sweetheart in the early 80’s ! She was pregnant with our first child. My future in-laws didn’t think we would make it. Just like everyone else. 38 years later , I’m still with my sweetheart and wouldn’t change anything. 2 children and 4 grandchildren later. Life is awesome!!!

Thats utterly heartbreaking, my heart goes out to you. Ive had nightmares of losing my siblings in the pasr. One of my siblings was born that same year, which just fucks with my mind. While I've not lost a sibling (and as the oldest by a few years will probably be the first one to go) I did lose two friends in middle and high school respectively. It's fuckin tough to deal with the idea of a child dying when you, too, are a child.

Beautiful? It's sad because obviously you aren't interesting enough to keep that person's attention. Instead their mind wanders off to better things. That's what this song is about. She is bored with him while he is in love with her.

Well, the lead singer of the goo goo dolls is 55. So you’re 60, that’s not that far off. You’d have been like 30 in the 90s. Still a time to enjoy and love and relate to the music no matter what your age! Just ignore labels like “generations” because I know 60 year olds who love modern music and I know 15 year olds who love 60s music.

Thank you guys so much for your responses! Cant explain the feeling but its a sudden time warp when this song plays. Growing up with all your siblings, seeing your cousins on the weekends and not a care in the world. The first few seconds of the song and the last part always reminds me of October and November. Elementary school was a huge part of my life as funny as it sounds. Miss it

There's something magical about this song. 20 years ago I would drive in my old beater, listening to the rock radio station and hope this song would come on. 10 years later I let it drop to this girl I was dating that I loved Slide and it was one of my all time favorite songs. She was younger than me and grew up more in the 2000's, but she gave me a weird look and asked me if I was serious. LYRICS: Could you whisper in my ear The things you wanna feel I'd give you anythin' To feel it comin' Do you wake up on your own And wonder where you are? You live with all your faults I wanna wake up where you are I won't say anything at all So why don't you slide Yeah, I'm gonna let it slide Don't you love the life you killed? The priest is on the phone Your father hit the wall Your ma disowned you Don't supposed I'll ever know What it means to be a man It's somethin' I can't change I'll live around it I wanna wake up where you are I won't say anything at all So why don't you slide Ooh, slide And I'll do anythin' you ever dreamed to be complete Little pieces of the nothin' that fall Oh, May Put your arms around me What you feel is what you are And what you are is beautiful Oh, May Do you wanna get married Or run away? And I'll do anythin' you ever dreamed to be complete Little pieces of the nothin' that fall Oh, May Put your arms around me What you feel is what you are And what you are is beautiful Oh, May Do you wanna get married Or run away? I wanna wake up where you are I won't say anything And I'll do anythin' you ever dreamed to be complete (Yeah, slide) Little pieces of the nothin' that fall (yeah slide) And I'll do anythin' you ever dreamed to be complete (Yeah slide) Little pieces of the nothin' that fall (Oh, oh slide) Yeah, slide between the sheets of all them beds you never knew (Yeah slide) Why don't you slide into my room Just slide into my room Oh, we'll run away, run away, run away

My mother LOVED this Song in the 1990's, when I was like 10-12 years old, she Bought the Album, and she would take me on these impromptu Car excursions for HOURS, just running errands ...ect, but this song would Always be on in her 1998 Ford Contour's Tape to C.D. Track, while cruising and always stopping at Taco Bell on the way home.... She passed away in her sleep in 2008, I was 19. I ACTUALLY have become an Accomplished Guitarist in the last 15-20 years, so I got the Tabs, learned it, and Playing it for Her. SOO MANY lost memories.. it feels a lifetime ago. This brought it all back! Music is EVERYTHING to me! Just wish she could see this one last gesture . R I.P Mom ! ❤

Those 70 concerts had some big bands Rolling Stones Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Bob Seger, Doobie Brothers, Journey, The Who, The Clash, Reo Speedwagon, Greatfull Dead, Allman Brothers, Neil Young, Country Singer Alan Jackson. I was a True Buffaloian went to St PATRICKS PARADE. Grew up near Delaware Park, had Bills seasons tickets right threw Superbowl Years. Brian, you love life, you love everything! First off you are not Brian that is an entity given to you by your parents from the day you were born, you are not Brian, you are a Beautiful Soul waiting to fly free of the shackles placed upon us by the beast that is the system... The system lies to us... don't trust the system, it's not our friend, get away from the system as much as possible.. and be you, which is not Brian.. You are much much more.. Find you, go into a forest tomorrow, by yourself, no phone no technology no people... and walk around until you feel anything, then continue doing that, Daily. Go to the Beaches, put your feet in the water, our beaches are filled with beautiful negative ions our bodies need to feed our mind, and allow our mind not to shackle our true self, which is the formless non identified self.. Love you kind spirit!

Wambui Wachira I owe a lot of thanks to Johnny, my Brother went to High School with Johnny, my brother started drinking in 8th grade, Johnny helped him get of the Booze. Didnt help we were an IRISH Family. We were 70s kids. My brother went to those 70s concerts at Bills Stadium. If you dont know Buffalo had 10 years of concerts 4 every summer at Bills Stadium. He was a law breaker drinking beer at 16 in Bills Parking lots. Those concerts were crazy because of very little Security. It was cool almost every band opened saying ( HELLO BUFFALO ) Rolling Stones liked us played here 6 times. It was cool seeing those 70s girls having the hots for those Long Hair Rock Stars. Those 80s Bills games were just as bad as those concerts. No wonder Bills fans are crazy they party 4 hours before the game. I heard they stopped the Concerts because the Football field was getting beat up. They really did get big bands, Aerosmith, Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Rush, Allman Brothers, Country Singer Alan Jackson. Glad none of us kids were born with that Red Hair. Us kids were worried about our Freckles on our face, in grade school, A teacher said she give me 1 dollar if I could count how many Freckles were on my face. It did suck for me I was only 5'6" Tall. Ill admit us IRISH are Different born with Red Hair & Freckles. Us IRISH do need to be carefull in the sun our skin burns easily. Why am I talking about 70s concerts they were 35 years ago. I really was afraid at those concerts cause I was so small. Afraid of getting in fights. Those concerts were nuts people throwing beer bottals at the stage, people so drunk even loud music didnt wake them up 1 concert we had to wait 2 hours some band wanted to play when it got dark outside, those concerts were just like Bills games parting 4 hours ahead of the show. I always liked the saying KISS ME IM IRISH. ERIN GO BRAGH means IRELAND FOREVER

I am so glad that I grew up in the 90's and got to experience cool music like this. older music seems to be more emotional, more special. the songs make you feel something, unlike music today where it seems to be all about image, not authenticity. the 90's were a great time. no cell phones, no social media and I loved it

The guitar chords in this song are some of the best in a pop-rock song I've ever heard.

It's very sad we don't see much like this nowadays. The 90s is truly a blessing !

Just watched the band play this London, 20 years since I last saw them. People… they only got better! Simply… wow at their performance!

Going to see them in Mankato Minnesota, and September. I’m really looking forward to the concert and I’m 42.

I like how the guy is willing to give up his life so the girl can feel safe and secure. It's kinda short-sighted for sure but you can't help but see the romance in his attempt to help a girl he loves.

I miss the 90's. Americas final good decade. Awesome music, great vibes. Before the internet, supposed "smart" phones and social media's toxicity had come along and ruined everything. Those were they days man, let me tell ya. ;(

Exactly man it was the last great era I'd kill to go back even to the early 2000's . social media has ruined everything
