I love how Inigo echoes his brother's line to Browulfs guard when he first meets Langley - "Do we have an understanding?". A very clever and sweet touch.

I love how much these books explain more about Langley's character. In the end he can still be a huge, insensitive prick... but his story does give reasoning to his personality. I always see Langley as a grumpy wizard, who spend a lot of his childhood with visions of the future that were not understood by others. His sense of duty to protect the world against the Doom Strider, which only he knew about, has made him obsessed with that single goal in mind... thus pushing away all those who could have become his friend. But even now that he has found Inigo after all these years of searching, following breadcrumbs... he finds him with someone else who Inigo instead sees as 'his true friend'. For years he thought that 'he' was Inigo's best friend, but someone else has gone and taken his place. I always feel sorry for Langley, thinking that I understand his reasons for being the way he is... Feeling sorry about the fact that he will always see me and Inigo on our adventures, while he is left on the sideline, watching through visions of all the fun we're having... It's often the reason why I go and visit Langley again, even though he has no news yet on the Doom Strider. I often leave Inigo with him for a bit while I go to Dawnstar and do some supply shopping. All to make sure that Langley gets involved in our story too, and doesn't feel 'too' left out. Langley may be an insensitive prick... but in the end, all he needs is someone who looks at him as a 'Friend'. (I fear that Lennard and Langley might clash a little bit 'too much' for them to become 'friends' in the near future however... perhaps in the end... if given enough time.... LOTS of time ^w^ )

Well if you meet someone you've idolized for years and then insult his closest friend, you shouldn't expect things to go smoothly... I'm guessing he doesn't have many friends through lack of social skills rather than fate... If I ever met some famous actor or someone else I'd admired due to their excellent work, I certainly wouldn't assume I meant anything to them, or insult any of their companions...

Wow! These books are so well written. If I didn't know better I would have thought they were a part of the game, only thing that stands out is the amount of thought that went into this character.

I know what you mean. This tends to be true for a large number of mods I use. They fit into the game so well that they could, in fact, be part of vanilla, but their vastly superior writing gives them away and makes them stand out.

It is good to get more insight into Langely, but I do think Leonard is very much in the right to be wary of the old man wizard. From the way he's acted so far, it is rather obvious he is too obsessed with Inigo. Perhaps the old man will calm down, but he still gives off vibes of someone who might kill Leonard while pretending to do so for Ingio's sake.

I appriciate these vids. My ADHD makes reading the books of Skyrim quite an ordeal so I'd have probably skipped these journals if you hadn't recorded this. After listening to you, I now have a deeper appriciation of Langley and Inigo. You have genuinely improved my enjoyment of the game.

More like creepy stalker, never met you and thinks he knows you and that he's your best friend, and insults your real friendship with others, that's a whole bunch of red flags to me.

YES! That is exactly what I thought ever since I first saw him, he's got all the Inigo memorabilia, he knows all of Inigo's famous battles, he thinks of himself as his only true friend. He's basically Inigo's biggest fan, which makes him only SLIGHTLY less annoying than Conrad Werner... =p
