Thanks for reading this book. Incident at Necrom is a good short story and I enjoyed reading it when I found it. One of my other favorites is Palla (vol. 1 & 2). I think it's one of the few lore books that spans 3 games. Looking forward to when you read that one. :3

***** Yes, yes, you`re right, it`s because there`s a tube which connects your mouth and your ears, which alters the pitch at which you hear your voice because of different air pressures. Totally forgot that. He might sound.. not-pleasant enough (?) to himself.

Apocalypso The tube is made of mucosa and cartilage for the most part (2/3 IIRC), that's not the reason. The reason is that the sound you hear is mainly the one transferred directly from your mouth cavity to your skull, a part of which is the mastoid bone enclosing the cochlea (the snail-house-shaped organ responsible for your hearing. TL;DR: You hear the direct connection mouth -> ear, while others have air inbetween, that makes the difference. EDIT: Oh and the tube are precisely to keep the air pressure in the middle ear equal to the atmospheric air pressure, if there is a difference it will feel uncomfortable, (like on an airplane when it's landing)

This is THE BEST fictional book in Skyrim IMO. I dream of having this story in the next Elder Scrolls game, but not as a book. As a real quest!

Thread necromancy here but, FYI to future people: there is now an add-on to the "Audiobooks of Skyrim" mod that adds Gopher's readings to the books we have them for. (Don't recall exact name but "Gopher" is in the title of the add-on.)

My current character fits the illusionist's description in her fighting style. Stealth, Paralyzis, some destruction but mostly illusion and healing. And I haven't read that book yet :P

illusion is my school, I am an illusionist, probably the most useful when playing on master or legendary (in my opinion), using a duel cast illusion spell, fury, will be the difference between success or failure. I play on master and Legendary, and when you have a 2h warrior and you only have 100 heath you can see very quickly 1 hit and your dead. Great read Gopher, hope to hear more.

I pretty much guartnee you've missed some interesting quests somewhere. I have over 1000 hours into Skyrim and I still find stuff I've never heard of that turn out to be Vanilla.

I always enjoy Gopher reading books. They are very interesting to read on your own too in the game.I wonder if there any other Skyrim book readers, most people I've talked too said they don't want to read in a video game. Guess we're a special brand/breed lol.

Probably been said before, but Gopher - if the opportunity ever arises, it would be awesome to have Richard as a follower, who you could just give a book to, and have him read it back to you. I'm imagining a Stiv redux with Richard following him, giving him his favourite book to read which is read to him while Stiv rests his weary little head.

Gopher, (or anyone with adequate knowledge) please help. When I start up skyrim I get a nice 50-60 fps while running quite a few graphics mods, but when I enter an interior and comeback out to the main world, my frame rate drops to an unplayable 15 fps. I have Nvidia GTX 560TI graphics card. If anyone has any knowledge on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated, also forgot to mention when I restart my frames are normal again but as soon as I come out of an interior they drop again.

Your GPU doesn't have enough memory. You need to reduce your texture packs or be careful about what resolution you use. I run a 780 and that happens to me sometimes. It is caused by all the GPU memory suddenly being full.

I do have an HD fire effect mod, and I'm running sexy whiterun and Osmodius solitude. What's weird is when I load my game I get 50 frames

Are you sure? I know Vampire Lords are supposed to be immune to paralysis, but I didn't think normal vampires were.

@@GophersVids Ah, I checked and there might be exceptions. I was thinking of the older games. In Morrowind and Oblivion you can't paralyze Vampires but in Skyrim, only Vampire lords are immune. Lore wise there are many different vampire clans and bloodlines With different Powers and resistances, so I'd say it's possible for paralyze to work on the vampires in the book. I enjoyed your video!

@@essiestone3138 Since this book is as early as Morrowind, I think you are absolutely right. Paralysis does not work on vampires there, as far as I know :) still my favourite Elder Scrolls book though

@@MishaHendrix yep, great skill book but like plenty of irl books you shouldn't take fiction as an instruction manual or you'll get eaten by vampires (they're very strict about proper citations). I still carry this book everywhere as a keepsake on my illusionist Morrowind character though. Kinda love that about Elder scrolls in-game books, they have a lot of deliberately conflicting texts and unreliable narrators, especially in their history books. It makes the world feel real that there's no single settled answer to everything.
