@MissTopsieX8 жыл бұрын
You say that like it's a bad thing
@garryiglesias40748 жыл бұрын
Gypsum Not a "bad thing", just that it's still invasive even if it's less than some others (what you said). But yeah, it could be worse :). The fact is: we don't see anything special on the ride, the shark seemed to be annoyed more that chilling out and smoking with his shark-friends... We've seen eagle/falcon cams which were more interesting and breathe taking than this video...
@MissTopsieX8 жыл бұрын
Eagle cams are very cool! I like these because the sea is very mysterious and we could see things that no human or submarine could get close to.
@garryiglesias40748 жыл бұрын
Gypsum I agree, that's what I expected, but at the end, we just saw the sea ground as we can all experience doing some diving... The only thing a little "funny" was the pilot fish on the head.

At the end of the video, when the hammerhead rolls on its side, it's not trying to dislodge the camera at all. Great hammerheads swim 90% of their lives rolled on their sides as a way of conserving energy and reducing drag by as much as 10%, courtesy of that enormous dorsal fin. It's a natural behavior that's only recently been confirmed in the wild.
@hans-joachimbierwirth47275 жыл бұрын

I love sharks and I am all for trying to find out more about them and understand their behaviours. However, I am disappointed that there was no disclaimer about the divers being marine biologists or any acknowledgement that this could hinder/hurt the shark if it is not done in the correct way. You can see the shark trying to 'scrape' the camera off- it is obviously affecting it. They are tough creatures but they are also highly sensitive and have evolved to be as streamlined as possible. The issue I see here is that gopro is a commercial product. I do not want to see someone getting injured attempting to do this on a holiday or a shark getting injured due to a bulky or awkward attachment. That said the footage is beautiful.
@thomashutchinson19 жыл бұрын
Patriot 03 Yes. I realise you may say something like they don't say 'don't try this at home' on their other videos but I see this as a different situation. Diving with sharks is a much more accessible activity than a lot of other videos. The other thing is that as they are not putting a camera on a person or even a pet people are less likely to care about the implications.

Calm down. I expressed an opinion with some sound reasoning. I quite like that it is creating some discussion but it is a shame that most of the counters have been single line replies. They (gopro) have previously included more information in other videos such as the Lions video with Kevin Richardson, so why not this one to clarify a few things. I realise you can't stop some people from doing stupid things but if it prevented a few... I think a few points have been missed. 1) I'm a massive fan of gopro, their media work and also what they enable people to do 2) I am aware that a single shark is massively out weighed by the millions caught by the shark fin and seafood industries. However, an incident could cause many issues (which I can detail if you would like) and 3) I enjoyed this video.

@tiredbylife.55897 жыл бұрын
King Of All Saiyans Hammerheads often go sideways. When they hunt, they circle around. They swim very differently from other sharks due to their head's shape. But, it can also be because it wanted to get rid of the camera on his fin.
@hans-joachimbierwirth47275 жыл бұрын
Better question is: why did those idiot cut the video when he did. The next two to five seconds would have shown an answer to an important question. Do they control their vertical vector using their dorsal fins?
@Tempusverum5 жыл бұрын
I also seemed to pick up speed when going sideways. I know when divers do a sidewise DUK their speed increases, and it’s been proven that moving fins vertically rather than horizontally results in more efficient water vortices. But in the shark’s case, it’s already vertical. 🤔
