Nice information, how to turn on stabilization in time lapse on hero 10, please reply
@GreatDayForAHike2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. For a time lapse I recommend not having the camera in motion. You'll want to have the camera stationary when capturing a time lapse. Now, if you do want to be moving while also time lapsing then I recommend using the Hyperlapse setting on the GoPro.

Love your videos/ tutorials. They have helped ma a lot (got my Hero 10 Black for Christmas) during an 8 day backpack in the Wind River Range in Wyoming. There are 2 solar eclipses coming up. Any hints for filters etc for filming these?

I want to record some plants growing inside my house. How should I set up my Gopro Hero 10? I will connect it with the battery directly to a wall socket to avoid battery problems. The time lapse will be at least 25 days. Is it possible?

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, I just bought my goprom, I'm trying to learn, can I keep it at iso max 400, thank you
@GreatDayForAHike3 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome! Yes, an ISO Max of 400 will still give you good results without too much grain.

Thanx but !!! The GoPro doesn’t record wail connected to charger !!! Do you connect it to the charger then you remove the battery ?
@GreatDayForAHike3 жыл бұрын
Mine records while connected with no issues but it is possible certain external battery packs need to be providing a constant charge to keep running in which case yes, removing the battery would likely resolve this.

Great video!!!🫡Best settings for driving timelaps???
@GreatDayForAHike2 жыл бұрын
I recommend using the hyperlapse mode while driving. This will give best results. 4K, auto interval, ISO Min 100, ISO Max 800. Natural or Vibrant colors.

Thank you for this easy to follow video, very helpful. What do you recommend for a time lapse for 1-2 months?
@GreatDayForAHike2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. For 1-2 months I would recommend an interval of 5-60 minutes depending upon how much detail you want shown in the time lapse. In other words, a lot of details or just a big picture progression.

Trying to set up a timelapse but the lens choice is set to "wide" and greyed out, Can't change it to linear as you have done. Can you help? Thanks.
@GreatDayForAHike Жыл бұрын
If you’re in photo mode it will only allow for wide. If you’re in video mode it should allow you to do wide or linear.
@steveloudon7491 Жыл бұрын
@@GreatDayForAHike In your tutorial titled "GoPro Hero 10 The BEST SETTINGS for Incredible TimeLapse" at 8:30 you are able to change the lens in photo mode. You have 3 choices.
@GreatDayForAHike Жыл бұрын
In photo mode if you change Output to Standard you’ll have the three lens options. In RAW it will only be Wide. Good question.

@@GreatDayForAHike OK thanks. Can the fish eye effect be easily corrected in Premiere Pro? I would rather shoot in RAW but don't like the distortion.
@GreatDayForAHike Жыл бұрын
Yes it can be corrected. I prefer correcting it in Lightroom first along with any other photo edits and then importing those exported photos into Premiere Pro to finish up.

Good video the settings you are using can they be used with 8 and 9 with some exceptions my biggest problem is the editing software can not find one that works well without paying through the nose, like Adobe and them still good videos
@GreatDayForAHike3 жыл бұрын
Yes, some of these settings will not have the exact same options on the 8 and 9 but in general most of them will be the same. I recommend checking out DaVinci Resolve if you haven’t yet. The free version is powerful and great for video editing. It does have a bit of a learning curve but it’s good software.

If I have the pass through door closed is it still waterproof?
@GreatDayForAHike2 жыл бұрын
It’s not waterproof but will help protect the camera if using in rain or snow. You would not want to submerge the camera in water though.

I've been a subscriber for a while and I've learned a lot from you. Thank you! The Hero 9 was my first GoPro and now I have a Hero 10. I use it for biking, running events, hiking, and kayaking, etc. I find myself turning it on/off, and switching back and forth from video to photo during my adventures and it doesn't seem very efficient. I'd be interested in a video of what you do. Do you just video the whole event and then cut it up in post processing. Thanks again. Have a Merry Christmas season!
@GreatDayForAHike3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, that is a great idea for a video. I’d be happy to put that together and show how I do what I do.
@jafix853 жыл бұрын
@@GreatDayForAHike Yes, i would be highly interested, too. In short: What is your workflow when you are outdoors and after that. (Maybe you know the "problem", when you hear: "Honey, please stop playing around with your gopro settings and enjoy the scenic with us..." :) )
@GreatDayForAHike3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I’ve got this one on my list. In short: I do plan out some shots I want to get ahead of time and then collect some extra footage when I’m on an adventure as well so that I have plenty of b-roll. I’ll detail this out in the video step-by-step.

Very informative video, thanks. I have questions if you’re able to answer, please. I’m mounting a Hero 10 on a tugboat to capture a photo time lapse of its 16-day journey from Singapore to India. 1) since it will be recording both day and night is there an Auto setting I can use? 2) can you suggest a shot interval rate? 3) what size microSD card will be able to handle a time lapse for 16 days? It’s my understanding that the Hero 10 can handle maximum 512GB only; will that be large enough? Any other advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx!
@GreatDayForAHike2 жыл бұрын
Great question and that sounds like an incredible trip! In this video I outline the best settings for day to night time lapses: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onatfH2EmreNatE For shot interval you’re probably going to want it to be somewhere in the range of 1 minute to 5 minutes per shot for best results. For MicroSD card I recommend the 512GB. If you’re doing video mode this will easily be enough space. If you do photo mode this should still be enough space as long as your interval is at least 1 minute. Have fun!
