This is awesome!! Thanks so much for the video. Quick rookie question: You mentioned 'B Roll" @4:24 what is that? Thanks again.
@NicksFort6 жыл бұрын
B-roll is "is supplemental or alternative footage intercut with the main shot" basically it's all the footage that you use that's not the talking part. So in this video the footage that is 0:20 till 1:00 is all broll :)

Great review! I've had some success setting ISO Min AND Max to 100. Having ISO max at 3200 is way too high and you will get that unwanted noise as shown in your vid. This should help lowlight performance!
@NicksFort6 жыл бұрын
That is a good idea for sure, but that min ISO won't cut it on the sunny days, but if you set it up with a ND filter and then use the ISO on auto that could be a decent approach!

Hello! Nice video. I tried using DaVinci Resolve 14 to color correct my videos from GoPro Hero 6, but it seemed to not be compatible with the compressing file type the Hero 6 has. Do you know if DaVinci Resolve 15 should work?
@NicksFort6 жыл бұрын
Sorry Felipe I am not familiar with Resolve. I have heard it's a fantastic program for coloring though! If you do figure it out please come back and share in this comment so other people can reference it :)

Hahaha yeah man you should consider it. I was coming from my Hero 3 so it was 100% needed! But I mean I was still using the hero 3 - one of the shots in my UNH summer ad was on that hero 3 - bit.ly/2CSGdL2 - let me know if you spot it!
@RyanBCreative7 жыл бұрын
Pretty seamless! my one guess would be the camera POV shot at 0:33
@NicksFort7 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify I was using my hero in the UNH summer ad (not this tutorial) and that gopro hero 3 shot was at 00:43 seconds (of the guy at the beach POV taking a photo with a DSLR and we go into the DSLR camera!)

some people say to use white balance native, but the colors looks weird and red colors looks kind of orange : ( do you know why?
@NicksFort7 жыл бұрын
I end up using the auto white balance often because of the way I use this camera (just running around with it and not necessarily setting up shots). If you are setting up a specific shot and have the time you should try to set the white balance in custom mode, but don't forget to change it when the color of the light changes in your next location! And to answer your question it's probably because the camera is constantly adjusting what it thinks is white in the scene causing the colors to shift, it's an unfortunate side effect of auto white balance :(

2:28 I'm trying to picture someone who's strapped a full frame camera to his head xD Great review buddy, I'd love to hear your opinion on how Hero 6 stands up against xiaomi's yi 4k+ :D
@NicksFort7 жыл бұрын
HAHA 🤣🤣 picturing that now and it's hilarious!! I have been hearing a lot about the yi 4k+ camera and I am tempted to check it out and if I do I will surely do an episode about it! Thanks for the kind words 🙂

Same song has Peter Mck. :)
@NicksFort6 жыл бұрын
Lol that's definitely going to happen a lot since I am using the company Epidemic Sound for music, which is the same company Peter Mckinnon uses 😎
@NGarcia6 жыл бұрын
I cant be sure about Peter but Matt from TravelFells use that song alot :P hahaha I never used Epidemic but looks like the sounds that they have is not enough for all the youtube creators dont repeat... haha. Cheers Keep Up that work... almost getting in the YPP looks like your are going to make it ;)
@NicksFort6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's definitely not close to enough for no repeats lol, plus half of the tracks are really good and half are not that great so it narrows the options down! LOL about the YPP, it's funny I was in it before and I got the email saying they are kicking me out end of February...but I am hoping I can make the cut before, mostly just cause I want to. Not planning on monetizing my videos for awhile anyways, not till I have a big enough audience for it to make any sense. Thanks for the positive vibes!
