It would depend on the type of feel you are going for, sometimes no clouds would be better for the type of shot you want. I have actually used my GoPro for some stop motion work, shooting a series of images in photo mode and then importing them into a stop motion studio app. Some of the same principles apply for timelapse.

@kevin-raycarlsanden23135 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the amazing videos and tips MicBergsma. They've really helped me with my new Hero 8. I was a bit disappointed with the camera, but quickly realized I was doing things a bit wrong after watching your videos. I was also wondering, I do a lot of fishing and use my chesty to record this. Which settings would you recommend for the best quality and smoothest experience? I currently use 4K/30 FPS with SuperView in order to see the pole better, and ProTune on with best possible HyperSmoothing available, but I keep experiencing a laggy motion blur effect on the sides and other things further away in the shot? Should I be using Linear or Wide for these things? There's a few videos on my KZbin for reference, mainly the GoPro - Test #3 video. On the buildings and the people in the background, you will see the laggy effect I'm referring to. Hopefully you or someone else can give some tips!
@kevin-raycarlsanden23135 жыл бұрын
Will perhaps the Bit Rate have anything to say? I use the highest setting available on that as well. Shutter speed is usually 30 or auto.

Thanks very much, one question I have is at what point do you lock the exposure and whats the pitfalls for locking it in too early. Do I need to specifically select the sun and lock the exposure into that? New to go pro & photography
@tkay59045 жыл бұрын
He said you lock it right before you press the shutter button... timing is based likely on how many minutes before sunset you want to stay filming (or taking photos). Since you're new to this, like me, I think you'll just have to practice (trial and error) to figure the start time out. Using the app or calculating on your own will tell you for how many minutes you're going to record or take photos.
