I’ve always respected Shane Douglas. The guy has a real passion/love for this business. If you listen to his stories, they never change. I wholeheartedly believe he’s telling the truth. The guy has always been criminally underrated.

This dude is always detail oriented and his story never changes - no hesitating either like Nash does in his shoots or Mr. “Ya knooooowww” Shawn Michaels does with every answer. Met Shane at Wrestlecon last month and the dude is as straight up as it gets.

I have heard him repeat the 'do you agree with that diagnosis?'-conversation. He has never changed his story. I totally believe it.

Reminds me of what CM Punk said on the infamous podcast. Vince with his "I'll owe you one" time and time again, he just uses people without rewarding loyalty.

In my opinion the Greatest ECW Champion of all time. Heel Shane Douglas in 1998 was Awesome. VERY underrated!

I doubt Shane is lying, the details are so precise and even for him to remember this after many years is crazy. Vince McMahon runs the WWE like a slave plantation.

Completely believe him. He's told the story more than once and it has never changed.

I remember when I met and interview Shane before Wrestlepalooza in Marietta, GA when I was working for and independent tv station that carried ECW. During my visit Shane and everyone else was classy and treated me a nobody at the time with the utmost respect. Shane if you see this comment thank you very much sir.

He meant 1995 not 96. Great wrestler who didn’t get the right matches setup. Could have been a good opponent for Bret in Summer 95.

The mark of a liar: story changes in one way or another each time they re-tell it. Clearly Shane Douglas is NOT a liar. He remembers everything and every detail and never has one detail missing or not the exact way he has told the story before. Love this guy, was lucky enough to meet him in NY at Wrestlecon a few years back. Awesome dude and not a BSer

I don’t get why so many people shoot on Shane. I’ve always loved the dude

The Bret Hart of ECW. He was the guy, along with Benoit, Jericho and the Luchas who kept ECW a serious wrestling company rather than just guys trying to kill each other with construction equipment and other foreign objects for a bunch of sadists. His work with Brian Pillman was excellent. It's just unfortunate that rivalry never went anywhere.

WWE surely missed out on Shane, if y'all never saw his body of work just check on the ECW in the mid to late 90s. he was sensational and tailormade for the Attitude Era

Damn. I actually can relate to his injury and story after an attack on an Afghan mountainside. The fact that he could even stand to try to wrestle and try to take bumps is freaking crazy amazing. I’ve been down those types roads he described. You can feel every twig on the road. That right there tells me Shane Douglas is no joke and is hardcore. He’s freaking awesome to me now. Always loved his work even when i couldn’t stand the gimmicks he got stuck with.

Shane should have gone back to WCW because he would gotten guaranteed money. Like them or not, WCW paid which is why everyone headed there in the mid-90's.

The year before this happened, Troy Martin (Mr. Martin), was a teacher at my Middle School. I got a different teacher though, so I didn't get the stories and experiences first-hand like many of my classmates.
