Granola by Gordon Prep Time 10 minutes Cook Time 30 minutes Author Gordon Ramsay Ingredients 200 g honey 1 tsp vanilla extract 300 g rolled oats 100 g puffed rice 100 g natural almonds 75 g pumpkin seeds 75 g sunflower seeds 50 g linseed 50 g raisins 50 g cranberries Instructions Melt the honey and vanilla together, either in microwave or on a stove-top. Mix the oats, rice, nuts and seeds together. Pour honey over oats mixture and mix well. Place in a shallow baking tray and smooth out into a thin layer. Bake for 25-30 mins at 180C, stirring occasionally to ensure it doesn't burn. Remove from oven, and stir in dried fruit. Store in a sealed container.

Another good one: 4 cups organic oatmeal, 1.5 cups sliced Almonds & crushed Pecans. In a separate container- 1/3 cup raw honey, 1/3 cup California olive oil, 1/8 teaspoon of sea salt and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla. Stir the liquids and salt, then pour it into the oats and nuts container. After mixing, put it on a pan and bake for 33-35 minutes at 300 degrees, stirring it every 11-12 minutes to prevent over toasting. Often I'll add unsweetened shredded coconut to the last 11-12 minutes of baking for variety. Lasts 2+ weeks.

Some notes on the recipe below. The oven temperature needs to be 150C, not 180C. It will burn at that temperature, or at least go very dark brown. I bake for 15 minutes, stir then bake for another 15 minutes. I also mix 2 tablespoons of butter and melt together with the honey to pour over the mixture. You don't need to add puffed rice - any crunchy cereal will do. I also use a mixture of sliced almonds and walnuts. Also, it will be a lot more crunchy if you leave it to cool after baking than eating it right off the bat after baking. Tastes awesome and much cheaper than to buy!
@radomirpolotsky5594

Are 200g of honey with 2tbsp of melted butter enough for 500g of oats? I think 200g of honey for 300g of oats is too much, but i don't how it really is. Moreover, it makes the granola much more expensive food. Could i use less honey?
@LoressaClisby
@LoressaClisby 9 ай бұрын
@@radomirpolotsky5594 Yes, that's what I use and it comes out nice and crunchy, but sure, you could try less honey, maybe even substitute it with some melted raw sugar. I'd be interested to hear how you go and whether it being less sweet as a result would taste better.

It's really up to personal preferences, I'd suggest to start with half or 1/3 of your total volume of dry goods (oatmeal, seeds, fruits...) to be oatmeal, then it's a trial and error process :)

As Chinese, we use Goji for making soup, porridge or stir fry vege. Never thought it can mix with oats. Gonna try that. Got bunch of goji in my kitchen.

The berries you added look delicious Gordon..I've never eaten them nor seen them available for purchase. What do they resemble? I bought a big container of vanilla yogurt today and you're granola would be the "icing on the top"..

I have granola everyday for breakfast, i find what makes it even nicer and healthier is if you have it with almond milk and also add dark chocolate, sultanas, dark robust maple syrup and fresh banana or dried banana chips to the mix.

Can't believe i am disagreeing with such a heavyweight in cuisine, but you should never heat honey above around 40°C as it turns into a toxic substance. It simply wasn't designed to be at that temperature. Look it up. If you love honey, just add it right before you eat it.
