What is it that allows Mr. Ryan to be so dominant? What does he understand about grappling that others have yet to catch on to? He has seemingly 'cracked the code.' Is it on a subconscious level, or does he 'see the matrix?' He is certainly a big, strong dude, but that cannot be the reason for his success. What does he see that nobody else seems to not see?

@@nooneatall5612 "detailed , advanced, and intricate" is way too vague and ambiguous to answer the question in any meaningful way. @@gregorsamsa1364 Well, that's just not true. You can watch any other competitor teach its not detailed at all compared to what Gordon teaches. I don't know how familiar you are with his instructionals but they make what I am saying apparent. Every scenario is considered and there is just more. I really can't be more specific than this without going into actual technique. His replies questions are noticably more thorogh uthan what any other high level competitor has given on the same topic. I think a good way to escape the smother choke is to trap the arm with a tricep grip from the bottom, and also trap the leg and bridge in a upa.

was thinking that but w that kinda pressure i don’t think it’s possible lol

@@lysskamitz Personally, its my go-to escape for the kind of moves. Either against ezekiels, double underhooks, smother choke or anything where i cant get my arms to the hips of the opponent.

Amazing grappling.. awesome for a compliment to controlled referee combat things yet damn near useless on home turf decisions. . Respected for the athletics yet it truly belongs on a mat. More so even than judo.

you do know the immedaite moment the mount was there it's not really hard to imagine a 220 lbs man crushing a man's skull to oblivion. Dragging someone to the ground is always a useful skillset to have. The smothering part is Gord just having fun

These matched fights have not been with opponents of the same level as him. It doesn't impress me to see an ADCC champion crushing a guy who was never champion there and even lost to him.

People straight up refuse to have a match with him, he has called out everyone, it has been hard for Gordon to find a opponent and lately its been smaller guys who try.
