it's a different type of pasta. Linguine (with the "e" in the end) is flat/oval, and usually more slippery than spaghetti.
@wezzuh24825 жыл бұрын
@@andrewh6395 Linguine is not flat surfaced, they are slightly rounded, "tongue-shaped". The name is the italian word for tongue. (Closely etymologically related to the word "Language") You're thinking of tagliatelle or fettuccine, which are flat. Linguine also typically has slightly rough surfaces that make sauce cling better to them, hence they are typically used for sauces that are very oil based, or have a thin consistency.

1:25 Did I just see Gordon use canned tomatoes?!?!
@DoctorMcHerp11 жыл бұрын
Canned tomatoes taste better than out-of-season tomatoes, simply because canned tomatoes are picked and canned when the tomatoes are in season, so they have a fuller flavor. Some of it is lost during the canning process, but it's still far superior to a tomato grown in winter.

Not even a chef can use fresh tomatoes all the time.

I just bought all the ingredients today at my local Woolworths 🇦🇺 For a Rock lobster (no claws) $24, plus breadcrumbs/ fresh parsley/ red onions and tobasco sauce. Came to $35 total. I already have the other ingredients at home (including vodka) and I am trying this tonight!!! Gonna use string pasta instead of linguine pasta... Hope it works! It's looks amazing 🙏😍🙌🍻 I will let y'all know how I go . Wish me luck...

ok guys calm down with canned food haha, so if you think this way then he has to make his own ketchup, his own worcestershire sauce, his own wasabi his own dijon mustard his own vinegar and bla bla bla..its not canned beef or other stuff which require preservatives, its just chopped tomatoes :)

You got that righ! It's amazing how amateur and cook-wannabes are so fierce at judging experienced, world-class chefs at their work...in recipes intended for amateurs! First of all, he hates the rubbishy prepared meal canned-food, which does not include tomatoes. Then, these guys must know that canned goods, especially fish and seafood, include excellent and widely sought after products. For instance, there is a brand from Catalunuya, whose steemed razor clams cans can cost you up to 200€.

Using canned tomatoes is actually better, they break down a lot easier than fresh, whole, tomatoes.

Hi I'm in collage, I haven't eaten anything nutritional in almost 3 days. Only instant noodles and snacks. Can you make a video showing how to cook on a very tight budget? Thanks

Buy a head of broccoli (frozen broccoli works too, if you have to), and some chicken breast. You'll need salt, pepper, paprika, and oil (canola works). sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika onto chicken and let rest covered (in zip lock or a plate with plastic wrap) in fridge for at least 30 minutes. up to 2 hours is better. To cook chicken: put oil in the pan, turn to medium-high heat, cook until chicken is no longer pink on the inside (depends on how thick the breast is. you can cut down cooking time by cutting them into thinner pieces) Make sure to check that chicken is fully cooked before you eat. To cook broccoli: put water in a pot, add a pinch of salt, bring to a boil. Add broccoli and cook at high heat until they turn a vibrant green and a knife goes through the stems easily, but still with a snap. There's your dinner.

Buy a shoulder roast for 10 bucks. Crock pot with some veggies. Have that over pasta. Or salads. Iceburg lettuce is a dollar a head, add some more veggies and a dressing or vinaigrette.
