Personally I prefer the backstory in the Arrowverse over the comics. It's more grounded and makes him more sympathetic as it gives him a reason to be evil. Animals have been - and continue to be - cruelly abused and experimented for medical and scientific purposes so it would make sense that an animal subjected to such practices would grow to resent humans in general over time.

Captain Cold runs the rogues with 3 rules: 1. No Drugs 2. No Killing (will kill if it was between kill or be killed) Professor Zoom is psychopath just like the Joker but with powers Grood wants to rule the world as well as take the Flash's speed force powers for himself.

Hunter Zolomon is pretty cool too, he is the only reverse flash to redeem himself and die as "the true flash" and he was stated to hit harder than superman, his abilities were unique too instead of being just another speedforce user until he later gained it
