Each stop is both kind of its own thing yet somehow cohesive. I'm glad to see the title track getting recognition. I guess I assumed on an album full of bangers it'd be a little overlooked with its sort of slower build-up, almost starting to delve into prog rock territory. The incorporation of The Gospel Choir was incredible. I can't say I've heard anyone blend these genres quite as effectively. It's just a one-of-a-kind experience in every sense.

No other media project has impacted me as much as Gorillaz -particularly because of this album-. Some of my favourite memories are related to this album, like learning to draw by imitating, and failing, to copy Jamie's art style, staying up late with a friend listening to this album, telling "Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head" in fron of my 7th grade class when we were told to narrate our favourite story. Beyond the nostalgia, it's a genuinely ambitious, immersive and atmospheric record while still being multifaceted and, somehow still relevant to this day. Some of the songs still sound ahead of its time, too. Incredibly record, probably my favourite album of all time.

It was great hearing some more background knowledge to one of my favorite albums. I have listened to this since it came out, one of my first albums ever. This is one of those albums that gets better and better the more you listen to it and over the years. It really becomes yours in this process, where you connect it with the experiences of your life. People try to tell you, which song is the best song on this album, but you know full and well, that it is a complete masterpiece, and which of its songs really touch you. For me one of the greatest moments is, when oh green world turns from these at first dissonant and difficult chaotic sounds into pure beauty, as if you entered another space with the song, that envelopes you in harmony.

11 years ago, my life was empty and without purpose. When I heard the album (specially Feel Good Inc) for the first time, I fell in love with music and since then I have a life purpose. Ps: I bursted into tears when this album was included in the list of the 500 greatest albums of all times .

Also - shout out to the Roots Manuva verse on All Alone - hugely underrated and ahead of his time British MC - his first album - Brand New Second Hand (like the Peter Tosh track) is a real classic.

Demon Days was my Gorillaz start and the constant evolution and change for the band is something that I love most about it. Maybe every experiment doesn't work but at least Damon and crew want to do something new and different

I pre-ordered this album and (back in the days of albums coming out on a Monday), received it three days early on the Friday, which instantly made it special to me and I had it on loop all weekend. Remains one of my favourite albums of all time - which has always caught a few sideways glances when telling people in the past. Also want to give a shout-out to the crescendo you're hit with at the end of Kids with Guns. Incredible.

Yeah this album is the first one that got me into albums as a thing, I dont think i'd appreciated the artistry of making one before it. i was just into the singles on the radio or the greatest hits records my parents played in car journeys Also Feel Good Inc, that song somehow couldnt actually be overplayed. Damon & Danger mouse managed to make a song it was impossible to get sick of

Gosh every time I listen to this album I think back to those weekends waking up late hearing feel good blasting on our tv, mom cleaning and dad cooking breakfast. I’ve come to love it again for something entirely different each time, especially now as a 20 sum with better understanding of the themes n lyrics in this work🥺❤️

I simply adore this album. It's one of the very first albums I ever listened to, front to back. I love the crazy mix of collaborators giving the project so much versitillity. It's so diverse in genres and vibes that I could def say that Gorillaz is at the foundation of my music taste.

This album is in my top 5. Just such a stacked album. Every song is a banger, even the weirder ones.

My favourite gorillaz album hands down; such a good variety of songs and sounds. The coupled last 2 tracks played together always make me shed a tear or ten, really invokes a lot of beautiful imagery and feelings in me of the break of dawn, the return to planet earth/home and hope for all things

I had the CD as a child and would play it over and over on a little CD player and only found out literally last year that the late, great, MF DOOM was on it, and it feelt like my childhood got a little bit better.

Demon Days is one of my favorite albums alongside Plastic Beach. I know its corny to say this, but those two albums really did help me thru one of the darkest times of my life, and find something better. Something about his music really resonates with me and feels personal to me. I think this album is truly an artistic masterpiece, even if it isn't everyones cup of tea. It cemeted their place in my top 5 favorite musicians.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time, and Dangermouse's production is unparalelled on it Random fun fact: The "Phi Life Cypher" remix of Clint Eastwood is the actual original version, Del was working with Dan on Deltron 3030, and Dan the Automator asked him to rap over some Gorillaz songs and his version of Clint Eastwood ended up the single Also, I bought an Italian Pressing of The Gray Album on Vinyl from a record store in Toronto, It was a hard choice between it and KMD's" Bl_ck B_st_rds"

This was arguably the first album that ever played a hand in shaping my early taste. I remember hearing Feel Good Inc on my sister's Now That's What I Call Music CD and thinking that it was the most colourful sounding and cool thing that I had ever heard. I bought the Demon Days CD straight after and played it probably a thousand times on my Walkman. Honestly, such a landmark album, and it has aged so well, I still hold it in as high regard as I did all the way back then.

This is honestly my favorite album of all time, It has a little bit of everything I like in music, fast and slow rhythms, dark and happy themes, and the composition itself is soooo well put together, listening to this album feels like watching a movie, you can follow the plot that develops . Sometimes I think Plastic Beach is better because it has more bangers, but this one as a whole is a better ALBUM I miss this kind of gorrillaz man 😭, but I'm happy for what it was

This album dropped my senior year of college, Bush was president, people were still under the 9/11 hangover it was just a weird time yet this record was like some kind of beacon. I love this album and I've been waiting on some kind of classic review for this one, after seeing "Plastic Beach" a while back I kept thinking this album needed to get some love too. Somehow this album managed to capture most of the unease of the time it was released and had a happy ending of sorts. I don't spin this album as much as I used to yet when I do it brings back a flood of memories of that time in my life and not having cares beyond where to go for a beer while the world seems to be collapsing. Thanks Melon, I needed this one.

I found oit about Gorillaz the same night as Daft Punk. A night i came home sad afyer a teenage hangout that concluded with me finding out a girl liked my friend and not me. Went home and Toonami had a special of animated music videos. That night changed my life and steered me to my affinity for electronic music. It's one of the most nostalgic memories i possess pure and blissful melancholy

My favourite album of all time. Huge gateway to discover diverse music genres, listening to Demon Days in my teens was a milestone. I know you like Plastic Beach a bit more, but I wouldn't be the same person without DD.

This album introduced me to Gorillaz which made me travel like 700km to a festival in Holland where they were playing in 2018. That's still probably the single most defining event to my music taste to this day, most artists I listen to nowadays I either saw there or I got introduced to because I listened to the artists I saw there. Lowlands 2018 probably one of the best festival lineups ever, for me it was life changing.

I discussed with a friend one time that if you were to rank the top 10 Gorillaz songs, #2 - #10 have such a long list of great tracks that could possibly have a spot because their catalogue is so quality and varied. But everyone knows what #1 is.
