I just learned of Tim Keller a few weeks ago and have been listening to his teaching every day. Today I learn he passed away in May and I am so sadden. I'm crying and not sure why. Same! I left a comment almost exactly like this one and I had to look to make sure this wasn’t my comment. I have been learning so much from Tim and have already read a couple of his books. No one has ever helped me comprehend and experience God’s love like he does. He opens up the love of Jesus in the Bible in ways I’ve never seen before. I had strayed so far away, in my disillusionment. I feel like I am understanding God’s love for the first time and actually loving God genuinely and not in words only.

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

I know he is with Christ now, but thru his sermons published on line, Keller has become my greatest life mentor. Not only does he dispense the word of God, but he has mentored me in many life aspects. I consider him the wisest man I’ve ever heard. I try to listen to his sermons daily because he has made me a better man and he is constantly pointing me to Christ………And he is alive. He is alive with the God-man this very moment. He is alive with our Creator. How great must that be?

I also consider him to be the wisest man I have ever listened to, so thankful to have found out about him through one of his best friends from seminary who was the pastor of our church in the 90s, I continue to learn so much from him! We were in Mexico with friends, I was telling them about him and found out later that day that he had passed, I was so sad too but am so thankful to have access to hearing him as much as I want!

The truth behind Pastor Tim’s claim that Jesus saved me from the Sermon on the Mount and saved me to the Sermon on the Mount- “He who has been forgiven much, loves much.” That’s the only way I can look at my own life - with all of the continuous real failings to keep the law, even now - and look at the sacrifice of Jesus for me, and see any hope. Sorry my brother in christ i came to this message 3 years late. But whoever who reads and wants to receive this please take it it’s free. Being in the addiction cycle is often due to the constant feeling of guilt and the condemnation you have on yourself. We are spirit soul and body, your spirit doesn’t want this and knows that this is unhealthy. But your flesh is weak and when temptation strikes we fall prey to addiction be it pornography or smoking or anything. Believe right and live right, live without the consciousness of your sin or flesh and live under the consciousness of the finished work of Christ and the grace he has imparted in your life. Often times we hear we listen, but our hearts are not at a posture where we can freely receive because of the condemnation we put ourselves under. Have a teachable heart is to have humility and accountability, humility in knowing that our flesh is weak and know that relapse is a possibility, never put trust in your flesh thinking you will not fall again. Temptation is something we shouldn't pray about but flee from, the flesh is weak and we often succumb to our fleshy desires if you give weight to it. But know that even if you fall, you are still the son of god, you are a prince that resides in a palace but is playing in the mud, you are still welcomed in your the fathers house and he calls you to be with him to be loved by him because he sees you not your sin. Yes even with your mud tainted gown. When you are forgiven much you will love much, when Jesus said i remember your sin no more, he means no more, not back to the last time you had fallen or came in contact with the mud, but the sin that has plagued you existed no more not even in the heavens or the universe. He sees us as that clean slate, can you? Only after you see yourself the way Jesus sees you then will you be set free from this bondage. Be blessed, Amen!

From the Facebook page: August 28th, 2020 Dear Praying Friends, Kathy and I want to thank you for your many expressions of support, and for your faithfulness in praying for us. We have been acutely aware of those prayers, and God has heard them... As of yesterday, I have finished six rounds of chemo for pancreatic cancer and, while there are indeed some side effects, my doctor says I’m tolerating the treatment very well. I have not been seriously debilitated and I can still do some work and ministry. Yesterday we also met with my oncologist to go over the scans taken on Monday to assess the effectiveness of the chemotherapy. The report is very encouraging. There has been shrinkage of the tumors and so we are continuing the chemo in order to diminish the cancer further. Our situation has driven us to seek God’s face as we never before. He is giving us more of his sensed presence, more freedom from our besetting sins, more dependence on his Word---things that we had sought for years, but only under these circumstances are we finding them. We humbly beg that you all continue your prayers for the effectiveness of the treatment and minimal side effects to accompany it. Your prayers and concern mean more than we can express. Kevin Belgrove - friend you are confused over the function of language and it’s cross cultural translation. This may help. No name change involved. What you are observing is a function of language - which that same God invented, by the way. Charles, Carlos, it’s the same name in two different languages. John, Jan, Juan, Ioannes, Johan, Johannes - again, all the same name. Nobody changed anything. Yashua, is what we pronounce “Joshua,” and it means “deliverer” in Hebrew, just as does “Iesous” in Greek, which has come into English as “Jesus.” “And thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save (deliver) His people from their sins.” HaMashiach is not his name, nor a part thereof; it is a title: “The Anointed.” And just as with the name discussion, this has been brought into other languages which impact the pronunciation, or even the word itself, depending on whether it is translated, or simply transliterated into the other language. In Greek, the word christos means “anointed,” so that is the (Divinely inspired) translation of His Hebrew title. Both words mean “anointed.” And it is quite obvious that the Greek christos, is simply transliterated into English as, “Christ.” Again, no “change” involved, simply bringing those same words and concepts into a different language.

Kevin Belgrove - you have actual scriptures great so do I but you are missing the actual message. When Jesus came in his fathers name he was speaking as the holy one with authority. Unless you can read Hebrew or Koine Greek you are reading translations my friend. Do a little more research before condemning folks for linguistic matters. God created all languages and all people, he’s not just God of the Jews only but also the Gentile. This sacred name movement is missing the mark. Names are important, and the Lord must always be respected and honoured. But to say that people are condemned because they use the name 'Jesus Christ' to refer to the Lord is well beyond all reason. A name refers to the character of a person. When someone sincerely prays in the name of the Lord Jesus they are praying with due honour and regard to His perfection of character and His power and authority. Whether they use Yeshua or Jesus or Yahusha, they are referring to the One Lord, the Yeshua of the N.T.. Ho kurios. . The Watchtower witnesses (who wrongly call themselves 'Jehovah's witnesses'..... if they were truly obedient to Jehovah they would call themselves witnesses for Christ - Heb. 1v1..... they are in reality acting as servants of Satan, though they don't realise it)) actually change the words of Scripture out of a misguided effort to appear reverent towards the name of God. They have changed the Lord's name in the New Testament to 'Jehovah', even though that name is NEVER used in the N.T. In other words they are taking it upon themselves to correct the N.T. writers. This is foolish and also pretentious. I'm wondering, Mr. Belgrove, if you are a Watchtower witness yourself. Whether you are or not, or whatever you are, don't be so quick to condemn people. It is God who will judge. And don't casually misuse Scripture as you have done with your facile misinterpretation of Heb. 10 v26. The apostle is there referring to something else completely, as you full well know.

@Kevin Belgrove i do not exactly know how it was translated to modern name Jesus since the bible was originally written in Hebrew and Greek and we are now reading the english version.... But does your belief in Yahusha changed your life and made you a better person? I can see from your reply that you already judge us who "deliberately keep on sinning"..(taken from different context). While Jesus told the pharisees that, You who are without sin should cast the first stone and judge not so that you be not judge. If you believe in the right name of God, you will be more careful to treat others. That's the teaching of Jesus is all about. Sadly, for others knowledge puffs up..they claimed to know the right thing but behave the other way.

I was named Paul, when I went to Greece guess what they called be pablos! Was I offended? No! I thought it was cute. You have even said Kevin you use lots of different bibles, English bibles have English names! Your transliterations from Hebrew are very poor look up Nehemiah Gordon who actually speaks Hebrew Yehoshua = Joshua = Jesus. Yehovah = YHVH = God Accusing The Believers is Not a work of The Holy Spirit. You are obviously looking for Intimacy with Him, but you have Not got His Holy Spirit in your conduct and approach. But religious pride.

Cause you were friend_ly_ to God but basically you're not friends. *You're not loving because you've been loved, you're just doing because you've been done for.*" This is really making me think about my relationship to God and also to others--where have I had a purely mercenary relationship that should have been a loving relationship? It's easy to measure the value of a relationship in terms of input/output, what you give and what you get, but that's not friendship and it's certainly not love. The pieced- together and finally-loved Frankenstein wandering around the woods, crying out, “friend??” “Whom do I have in heaven Lord, but you. The section at 36 minutes. About the boxers hands, and about Jesus hands. And surgeon said he stayed. Then we went into a great story. But I think we should have stayed. I can imagine a powerful evangelist speaking these word. Slowing down, and giving pause. It's a great moment for the spirit to move the soul.

That still small voice has come to me. A few times. I believe you can hear from him even when you aren't in the Bible.
