Keep in mind that successful trucking channels on KZbin often appear joyful because they not only enjoy what they are doing, but also because they are making a good profit from their trucking job and creating content for KZbin. The sacrifice is worth it. However, like yourself, other people have tried trucking but later regretted it because they didn’t realize what comes with the job, especially over the road trucking. I recommend that you truly know what you are getting yourself into before making a decision.

I also used to tour in a punk rock band in my 20’s, hauling a uhaul trailer behind a 15-passenger van across the country a dozen times or so. @@SpaceJockey805get into local food service with your CDL i make 6 figures and I’m home daily. Hauling fuel is also a big money maker, OTR should be last resort in my opinion because you will be away from family/pets/ gf/bf I could never do that.

I drove regional LTL line haul (doubles). I had a dedicated route (Chicago area to Akron/Copley, OH) and was home every other night. Slept in hotels, no truck sleeping. Was in the Teamsters, too. I had it easy. You might want to consider something other than OTR.

Try using load locks.They are more convenient than straps,and do you show the trailor seal before ( you ) remove it. I worked for a company that if the driver broke the seal instead of myself, we would have to decline the load. You may be breaking protocol without being aware.

Hey Alex, starting next Wednesday I'm going to have someone running my company that both my uncle and I have had deep respect for. Right now my 2021 Kenworth is being readied for me, my mind is made up I was hired to drive and I'm going for it. I'm being paid like my other drivers for the solo run I chose Georgia Yard to New Bedford then Deerfield to North Carolina Yard. Now this rookie in me has a lot to prove, the run is twice a week. The best part is not having to deal with the headaches running the company. The run is over 1,600 miles round trip. I hate pumping fuel too!
