Sunlight, Nichirin blades, Muzan, or wisteria poison are the only things capable of killing demons. Muzan is the progenitor of demons giving his dominance over them all. The nichirin material crafted into blades are naturally infused with the power of the sun. Wisteria, which are poisonous in real life, can kill low level demons if the dose is high, demonstrated by Shinobu Vs the spider daughter. We've seen Tamayo mention that Muzan can also kill demons, remember when a demon mentions Muzan's name a curse would kill them, it happened to the demon girl with the balls (pause). When people are telling you the only ways demons can die, is just within the context of, demon Vs demon slayer, so the only way a demon can die in that situation is by sunlight or their blades.

No the episode we were talking about were episode 1 of the "Mugen Train Arc" titled "Flame hashira Kyojuro Rengoku" it's anime only content (it wasn't in the manga) that takes place right before movie chronologically, then you skip episodes 2-7 which is a recap of the movie "Mugen Train". Then you start Season 2 with episode 1 of the "Entertainment District Arc" titled "Sound hashira Tengen Uzui" And don't skip the movie ending song as it hits different knowing the context of the movie.

People have said in multiple comments that Muzan is capable of killing his own demons as well, I guess you missed them. Anyway the meeting is meant to show a contrast to how Muzan handles things verses the Master of the Mansion, remember the Hashira meeting how despite the Hashira having a lot of respect for the Master they were allowed to voice their opinions and have a dialog, and the Master is portrayed as a Loving Father Figure. Muzan is basically the opposite he rules through fear and intimidating and is an abusive Tyrant, and only sycophants have any hope of surviving long enough to be his tools.

Lower Moon 5 - Rui was one of Muzan's favorites and gets an asterisk with his ranking. He had only been a demon for less than 20 years and showed great potential. Rui had no interest in moving up in ranks but was comparable to Lower Moon 1 or 2 in strength. He was also spreading his powers throughout his family making him weaker as an individual and is thought to be a match for a Hashira if he didn't do this(per databook). Episode 1 of Mugen Train Arc - Mugen Train Movie - First episode of Entertainment District Arc(Double Episode) The other seasons being shorter is because they didn't stretch out adapting the arcs(except one) of the manga. So there is not a ton of bloat in the other seasons to reach a 12 episode season requirement. Also. PREWATCHED!

No you’re good to watch this one! This is the finale to season 1. The next thing to watch is S2E1, then the movie. So you’re not confused, it’s just a different vibe from the last few episodes. 4 ways that we’ve seen to kill a demon: 1. Nichirin Sword 2. Sun 3. Shinobu’s Poison 4. Muzan Kibitsuji Also Demon Slayer is in the Final Battle Arc, which has two arcs within it. The first arc is the Infinity Castle (which will have the 3 movies). There’s still the second arc which is the Sunrise Countdown arc (but it’s unknown whether or not it will be included in the movie or have its own announced content after the movies are released)

*answers and info for this episode:* 3:42 here you said “one of the lower six” but i’m hoping you understand the power system now :) muzan was able to kill the demons. he is the only one who is able to do that without a nichirin sword, but still kill a demon personally. we also hear “i cant regenerate my body”, so it’s good to assume that muzan is basically “the king” these demons that muzan just killed are all MOSTLY STRONGER THAN RUI. a demon we had a whole little arc for, stronger demons than rui, killed in a few minutes. biwa is the instrument that the women is playing. when the demon got caught after trying to run, it was muzan who was able to catch up to him that quickly, decapitate him, and come back to the original spot. i believe this is the right episode? i don’t know what “one episode to watch” is, but i believe you’re talking about the episode to watch before the movie? if so, it’s mugen train arc’s first episode. that is the only episode that did not appear in the movie, because it was unneeded. every episode should be chronological so don’t worry. the last guy that tanjirou met at the final selection, you’ll understand what about his scent and how he got the big body in season 3, so let’s forget about that for now lol

Things got weird because episodes 2-7 of season two were a re-release of the Mugen Train movie with episode 1 acting as a prequel episode. The rest of season two is the Entertainment District Arc, season three is the Swordsmith Village Arc, season 4 is the Hashira Training Arc, and they just announced the adaptation of the Infinity Castle Arc which will be a movie trilogy

(sorry, it's a long a comment T-T) First off, the episode you just watched was indeed episode 26 aka the finale episode of Season 1. So no, it was not the episode we were referring to that we wanted you to watch. Secondly, to clarify: 1) there's the Mugen Train movie which was released first (2020) 2) and then there's Season 2 which came after (2021). Season 2 is divided into two arcs [PLEASE READ CAREFULLY]: 1) the first half of Season 2 is the Mugen Train Arc (7 episodes), which is the Mugen Train movie (mentioned above) readapted/recompiled into a TV series format. The 1st ep of this arc is an anime-orginal episode (and the only anime-orginal episode of Mugen Train Arc), while the remaining 6 episodes are the movie-readapted episodes, so basically more or less the same as the movie. 2) the second half of Season 2 is the Entertainment District Arc (11 episodes). Entertainment District arc starts on episode 8 of Season 2. Sometimes it might be listed as episode 1 of the Entertainment District arc, so don't get it confused with episode 1 of the Mugen Train Arc, which is techincally the very 1st episode of the entire Season 2. I'm not sure how this looks like on Crunchyroll because I don't use it, but I'll leave it to you to figure it out. Basically episode 8 of Season 2 is also episode 1 of the Entertainment District arc. All in all, Season 2 has a total of 18 episodes. As for the watch order, while the movie came out first, because the 1st episode of Mugen Train Arc in Season 2 is an anime orignal episode which chronologically in the story of Demon Slayer itself, takes place RIGHT BEFORE the movie, my suggestion for the watch order is: 1. Season 2 - Mugen Train Arc - Episode 1 2. Mugen Train Arc movie 3. Season 2 - Entertainment District Arc (starting from episode 8) but how you wish to watch it is up to you. Some people say watch ep 1 of mugen train arc AFTER the movie rather than watch before, but i'll leave that decision up to you. then continue the rest of the series as followed: 4. Season 3 - Swordsmith Village Arc (11 episodes) 5. Season 4 - Hashira Training Arc (8 episodes) [LATEST SEASON!!] Upcoming: 6. Infinity Castle Arc movie trilogy pt. 1 7. Infinity Castle Arc movie trilogy pt. 2 8. Infinity Castle Arc movie trilogy pt. 3 The second-to-last arc of the entire series to be adapted, the Infinity Castle Arc, will be split into 3 films, a movie trilogy. They have yet to announce the air dates for each film, so be on the lookout in the future. There's one final arc which has yet to be announced and adapted, whether it will be one last season to end the entire series or a movie, or when it will be released, no one knows yet. 9. Many people seem to want you to watch the first episode of the anime version of Mugen Train first, but if you follow the order in which it was released, the movie comes first. Anime ver. Mugen Train Episode 1 is a story made for anime that is not in the original story. The train arc has 7 episodes. 2-7 cover the movie with hardly any changes, just split into tv length episodes so that people who did not see it in theaters could watch it on tv. Episode 1 comes before the movie chronologically, but it was released after the movie. Personally I think the release order is the better way to watch it, but either way is fine and won't be detrimental to your overall enjoyment .

I believe the lack of episodes is probably because the studio is more about quality over quantity. The lack of non-canon filler makes it better to me. They've been faithful to the original and as someone who read all the manga before even hearing about the anime I've been very impressed with their adaptation. It's sad that it's short, but the quality of both story and art is very much worth it. I think I would be sad for the characters if they have to suffer through hundreds of episodes of fighting demons. At least we get a cathartic ending.

Because he's the one who ''made''' them. So a normal random demon cant kill another demon, but Muzan can decapitate and kill other demons or use his blood inside of them to make them explode. Like the demon girl who used balls to kill, exploded due to the curse of saying Muzan's name, whereby Muzan's blood inside of her revolted and killed her.

the fact that you keep mentioning the 8 ep + 3 movies incoming makes me think that you are mistaken, cuz it sound like you are prefering to the "hashira training arc" but that is not next after the "mugen train arc". After the train is the "entertainment district arc", then the " swordsmith village arc", and then we reach the "hashira training arc". Thus, we have a lot more for you to enjoy ^^

omg I'm so excited to rewatch Mugen Train arc again! 🔥❤️‍🔥 people meant episode one of those 7 (first is anime original) and THEN the movie. Then you have next 11 episodes of season 2, 9 episodes of season 3, 8 episodes of season 4 and then 3 final movies when they come out which is question of next 3 years, I feel.

When comments said a demon can only be killed by a demon slayer sword or sunlight, I believe they meant these are the only options for demon slayers (although Shinobu actually uses poison). But Muzan has the ability to kill demons. He can destroy them. You’ve also now seen the Infinity Castle. The demon with the biwa next to Muzan has powers connected to the castle.

Well, here we go to the Mugen train arc! It was decided to make 8 episodes for the train arc because they are the same as the movie (some extra material), and because they used a lot of the same material (movie and season) they were able release the following season fast.

The 8 episodes in the later season is because the arc while important was very short. The anime put in a lot of work to create more content for that arc.

I know Im a bit late but episodes 2-6 of season 2 is the movie. 1st episode was an added bit to give you more of Rengoku's backstory before before he is featured in the movie. As for the length of the seasons. Its more each season has covered 1 arc of the Manga. This first bit had a lot of world building and getting the ball rolling so that is why it was so long.

the movie was re-released in episodic format before the second season arc began, the episodic format had some extra scenes and a full prologue episode that gave the flame hashira some more development, that is probably the episode that people is talking about you watching before the movie, the episodic format of the movie as I said is exactly like the movie but divided in 7 parts including the prologue episode, so you can either watch the first episode of the episodic format and then react to the full movie or just watch it episodically, after that the second season starts witch is the entertainment district arc, followed by the third season, swordsmith village arc and finally the fourth season, hashira training arc after that we all have to wait for the new movie. I hope you can read this message so you don't get confused in the watching order.
