Watching it after the movie would disrupt the narrative flow and weaken the movie's ending considerably. When someones had so much trauma and pain they can disassociate and just numb themselves to the world and their feelings for self preservation in a way stop themselves from feeling pain, this is in extreme cases she was beaten poor and experienced horrible trauma. Its like the wiring of her brain tore so she couldn't feel pain anymore because of how much pain she was always in. i think for her it was so extreme and she was so young she stopped feeling anything at all so she cant comprehend wanting something of her own anymore.

You will be Fully devastated if you even start the Entertainment Arc Episode 1 even for the starting 5 secs! Episode 1 of the Mugen train arc - Mugen train Movie - ep 1 of entertainment district arc I recommend this order because its how it was meant to be viewed and is chronologically the right order in the timeline. I really don't think its worth leaving ep 1 (of the mugen train arc) till after the movie. Just watch it first and jump straight into the entertainment district right after the movie The whole idea of watching the first ep of season 2 (The entertainment district) than the movie is completely stupid. That logic of it makes the movie hit harder can be applied to many types of media and imo it just ruins the experience it will spoil you on 2 major things which happen in the movie so I really recommend following the order I made above

Kanao is called a "Tsuguko", which is basically a label/title (NOT "rank") meaning "Successor", because she's being trained by a current hashira to be the next hashira. IIRC she's the same rank as Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.

Technically the release order is that the movie came first, then the new 'first' episode and then the movie again split up in 7 episodes. But chronologically the new episode takes place right before the movie, so I think it’s the more logical order

But the creators of the anime when they released the film divided into episodes realised that it was better to put it in the chronological order that there is in the episodes. So you have to watch 1 episode mugen train arc, mugen train movie and then the entertainment district. This is the chronological order in which they planned it should be watched. I disagree (even though it's just an opinion matter in the end), you can get spoiled about movie-events from Episode 1 (due to the merchant dialog, and some stuffs the Demon Slayer Members do and say, given that the production team didn't worry about it since everybody is supposed to have watched the movie at this point, and this episode was made to provide extra content). That episode is best watched after the Movie, because it is best understood after watching the movie and hits different that way. IMO the only valid argument for watching Episode 1 first would be to get familiar with a certain character, because some reactors just don't vibe with that character from the beginning. But Luke does not have this problem, he accepts and embraces the cool quirks of any character, and there is also the possibility of Luke deduction skills backfiring on him, since you can easily predict the entire Movie from watching Ep1. Episode 1 - Movie - Episode 1 of Entertainment District Arc(Double episode) That rope snapping was Kanao's mind snapping to protect herself from the trauma/abuse/horrible conditions. I just watched episode 1 of Mugen Train Arc again and I see no spoilers(set up is not spoilers!) or any valid reason it should not be watched before the movie. It is anime only content that introduces a character and takes place directly before the movie. It allows you to get to know their personality type a bit more and sets up going directly into the Mugen Train arc/movie. I think people are just being impatient or want you to watch it how they did as they watched the movie first before the season that adapted the movie came out. I see little value of watching it after the movie as it is literally an episode to introduce you more to a character and takes place directly before the movie events. In fact, I would argue there is no reason to watch it after the movie at all.

People want him to watch the movie first because that's how they saw it, it's more nostalgia than logic, the same goes for watching the episodes, from a logical point of view the episodes are the best option for a reaction channel, they are already segmented , they have additional scenes and above all it is more difficult to receive a copyright strike.

To put this simple, after you have completed watching episode 26, you will have finished half of the story, 6 arcs, The manga has 12 arcs in total, but dont let that get you don't let that get you down because the second to last arc is insanly long, so long that it is Getting split into 3 movies. None of the movies are out yet, but you still got alot to watch in the meantime. I hope this makes a little bit of sense. If I'm wrong with any of this information, I'm sorry. Have a good day.

Episode 1 of the Mugen train arc released AFTER the movie, but it is a direct PREQUEL to the movie, the episode leads directly into the movie and improves the experience of the movie That’s why you should watch it before the movie, it really doesn’t make sense to watch it after

Kocho is the Family name So its like this: Kanae = the older sister who died, family name is Kocho Shinobu = the butterfly pharmacist girl, family name Kocho Kanao = the silent girl who got adopted by the Kocho sisters, family name Tsuyuri (they gave her a first name and a family name) In Japan they call people by their family name out of respect so the hashiras call Shinobu by her family name (Kocho) and she does the same, also in japanese they say family name first which is sometimes corrected by the translators.

I would recommend watching the first episode after the movie, not only does hit harder, but it was technically released after. Breaking it down, the first 7 episodes of Season 2 are just the movie split into episode form (for some reason). The first episode was the only one not part of the original movie, and it takes place between season 1's ending and the movie. While it is a prequel episode technically, it doesn't contain any important info you would need going into the movie, and it overall hits way harder after watching the movie.

Kanao is a Tsuguko, literally "the little follower", and she's there because a current Hashira recognized unusual and strong abilities, making her worthy of becoming a Hashira in time. Tanjiro and Zenitsu, even though they were trained by former Hashira, started as bottom ranks, because they didn't show that much unusual strenght. They'll scale the ranks fast, because they have some serious potential, but they're still a LOT lower than Kanao XD

I say watch episode 1 first because it will make the movie more impactful; I watched episode 1 after and I did not appreciate it more, was actually just annoyed that they didn't include that episode at the end of season 1(i saw the movie in theaters way before the season released). Its directly tied to the events of the movie and provides a proper introduction to the Hashira featured in the movie.

Fun fact: to craft a sword in the time, the swordsmith had to work 72 hours continuously started from smelting the ore to forging the blade and if anything gone wrong, he will have to startover the entire progress. Thats why even a composed person like Kanamori would pissed off when Inosuke did that 33:15 if it's too short then the 7 episodes would be the perfect choice

Season 1 - 26 episodes - Selection arc, first mission arc, haunted house arc, spiders arc, recovery/training arc... All really short arcs in general since we are just getting to know the characters... Season 2 - 7 episodes - INfinity train arc same as the movie but a couple extra scenes - Season 2 - 11 episodes - Entertainment district arc... Long...ish arc... Season 3 - 11 episodes - Sword Smith village arc... Long ish arc again... but short season Season 4 - 8 episodes - Hashira Training arc... Short season... 4 seasons 63 episodes... you could actually consider it a set of 5 twelve-episodes season... but instead of forcing arcs from the manga into seasonal slots adding filler and stuff they decided to put their effort into the animation of the number of episodes fitting for each arc. All the sesaons were short because... and most people might not have noticed... the animation was really detailed and well done which takes longer to produce... But that is also why they decided to make the ending and beginnings of a couple of seasons into Theatrical releases (to help with production costs) despite not actually making them a movie. The opposite for the infinity train movie which was an actual movie turned into episodes later...

First episode of that Train arc was basically the context (or prelude idk the word) for the movie, it happens right before the movie even though they released it after. The thing is this content is completely original, basically filler but in a good way, giving you basic context of the character Also the first episode of those three seasons with 11 and 8 episodes has the duration even to 2 or even 3 episodes added up, now you know

there is train arc ( 7 episodes ) and train movie. train movie is exactly the same as train arc episodes 2 to 7. so the recommended order is to watch episode 1 of train arc, then the movie ( instead of episodes 2 to 7) and then go to the next arc (which is entertainment district).

Demon Slayer often has episodes that go well over run time in the upcoming seasons, so it's more than you think. THere are like 3 50 minute episodes, plus multiple that are in the 30-40 minute range.

The movie was an arc made into a movie... then the Episodes were that very same movie re-edited into episodes and had a few scenes here and there to make the episodes fit better into the 22min slots... ALSO the episodes added an episode BEFORE the movie which explained how and why the characters arrived to the point where the movie begins, which is something that was easy to remove from the manga to make the length of movie the appropriate time for a theater screening...

Luke you should first watch the first episode of the Mugen Train Arc. Its called " Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku". Then watch the Movie, and then skip straight to the entertainment district arc, becuz the rest of 6 episodes are the same as the movie. Hope this helps :)

Shinobu is one of the most (if not, the most) useful Hashira that the organisation has despite being physically weak. She compensates it by her high intelligence, expertise on pharmaceutics, speed, knowledge on demon anatomy and use of poisons and antibodies/ plus an ordinary 'doctor', examiner for humans too. If the Hashiras are getting paid, she should be paid the most imo.

Luke the mugen train arc is the movie and first 7 episodes of season 2, only first episode is not part of the movie, it is directly before it chronologically but was released 2 years after the movie aired in cinemas along with first part of season 2 the rest of those 7 episodes are the movie cut to pieces in transiion scenes . technically entertainment district should be clasyfied as it's own season but since it aired in this wierd split season form people call it season 2 part 2 even though the mugen train movie aired 2 years before it was cut to episodes season 3 is the swordsmith vilage arc but i heard either version as it is season 3 or 4 (if you consider mugen train as a season for itself) then following season was the one we just had hashira training arc beyound that we got prommised trilogy of movies as the infinity castle arc, basically the climax of the story but we don't know if it be all the story to the very end or will ufotable leave something for tv later on, because manga chapters don't split evenly into 3 parts and either 3rd movie will be longer or we get 2-3 episode long special later with the closure. and this is entire story, the manga is finished and anime was only delayed due to covid, seasons 2 3 and 4 technically came out anually ever since pandemic ended so we can expect first movie anywhere from christmass to fall of next year and we have no idea if the trilogy air back to back or splits in time

The 8 Episode is because it started with an hour long start and the last two were also longer. There's also a Trilogy Movie after that, but they have to get released, so there's still more. Just in the future, so you'll have to be waiting for them. Also yes, the "Train Arc" is the Movie, except that very "Episode 1" in question in there, which is a prequel episode to the Movie.

I know you are still learning names Luke, but the title of the episode even stated who it was about! 😂But yes Kanao's backstory was quite sad. And Shinobu Kocho is the Hashira/Master of Kanao. Looking forward to your reaction to the Movie though it is one of my favorites as I even have the DVD box set for it. As well as the song for it which you have reacted to before!
