Yeah because being higher rated means that we can find a lot of the best moves given time. Doesn’t mean that we still don’t play some games like 600s. I recently played this 1450 when I was around 1470 and bruh lowkey I need to get that on chess the elo, trust Levy wouldn’t think it was played by people above 900.

Dude, you are freaking amazing. Also, love the subtle New York humor. My wife looks at me curiously when I laugh out loud watching your videos, since I usually have my headphones on. She doesn't see how a chess video could be funny. Anyway, I have been stuck at about 1000 rating. Been playing about six months. I realized that I had no plan for my pawn endgame. I always groaned when it got to the endgame. Was too lazy to learn strategy. Who wants to learn boring pawn endgames, right? Like . . . why would the fourth quarter of a football game matter, right? Duh. I finally realized I needed to learn this crap. I pulled my chessboard out, and meticulously went over this video (I also went over Queen and Pawn Endgame). I felt like I was back in college playing the Mike Tyson Punchout video game (long before your time). My buddies and I could never knock Tyson out, until my brother bought a book that gave the secrets to beating Tyson (By the way, "books" are pages of writing bound in cardboard, in case you're not sure what a book is! Hey, how's that for New York humor, right?). Your endgames videos are like that to me. Wow. Oh, I'm not sure if you read all of your comments, but, if you do, give a shout out to my daughter's song about Chess, called "Chessboard." Yeah, this is a cheap plug, but it's not why I watched your videos. Her name is Amanda Fagan. Who writes songs about chess, right? On that issue alone, she should get a metal. Besides, the song is actually freaking awesome. It's on KZbin and Spotify. Keep up the great work. I'm going to keep watching your endgame videos. Can't wait to torture other people with my newfound knowledge. (I posted this message on a few of your videos because I don't know if you read all of the comments on all of your videos, since you have so many comments).

in second game you had a better play with queen. at 17:27 you had to play queen to g3 instead of h6 which is a less obvious mate maneuver because then you attack h7 with black square bishop, and at that point his pawn is pinned to king so whatever he does after that move wont stop mate with queen to g7.

Yeah I think Levy is actually correct in saying "less" because he's using it to describe the word "active"; he's not using it to describe the word "pieces". If he were referring to the pieces, then yes he would have to say "fewer pieces". But it's certainly valid to say "more active" or "less active". @@goodryan8989 yes. It’s only for 1 course. But after you buy the first one you get an offer and can get another. So I bought the caro at 50% off then got an offer for E4 at 50% off

So, for people wondering, at 50:23 the theoretical move for white is Be3, with the idea to later go Nxf7 in case black doesn't like giving up free pieces

I'm fairly low level so it was informative to consider why queen to D1 wasn't even mentioned as an option in the last endgame. At first glance it looked safe, but tracing out the follow-up showed me what I'd overlooked: the only move for white would then be king F2, and then there's no good move for black except to move the queen back. Anything else leads to losing either the rook or the queen, and moving the queen back just means the king could move back (making it a waste of time) or leave it there (which doesn't leave any obvious attacks). All of this is surely instantly obvious to anyone experienced, but I'm only getting back into chess now after having not played in almost 20 years, so working through it helps.
