@crbrearley3 жыл бұрын
I think this would be easier than you'd expect but might still be quite instructive. Engine moves seem to me to be less logical but somehow still work perfectly. Or have scary stupid geometry. The strong players just seem to know because the engine does things like leave the king in the open because it sees no danger whereas a human player could never be sure and would guard against it.

@somebodyuknow25073 жыл бұрын
@@joakimquensel597 quite difficult. You have to see that you want d5, but having your rook on e4 would lose initiative when the knight takes it and you have to spend time recapturing. You have to then realize that sacing the exchange allows you to get d5 in which lets you bring the queen to the party. With time, I would say the average 1800 finds this. After getting Qd6+ in, calculating the forcing lines of the king hunt is even more impressive considering the backwards knight move (2000 or so), but it’s also possible that black YOLO’d on instinct.

There's this misconception that lower rated players can't see tactical combinations. If the opponent sucks and blunders into a puzzle-like position, I can occasionally turn into Morphy-mode, and then get accused of cheating. What is holding many players back is in many cases not lack of tactical ability but high blunder frequency and lack of positional understanding

Yeah when I was 800 rapid I found room for knight sac and if he took it was forced mate, I found a rook for pawn sacrifice and if he took I would have taken another room and pawn back and would have(probably) checkmated him and I found a clean knight sacrifice to win a rook.
