Nothing is wrong about writting simple riffs but I would agree that this song definitely prioritize audience approval over artistry

Simple is fine, simplistic is not, especially when it's overdone and predictable
@billybobthekidiswack2 жыл бұрын
@@hazardousjazzgasm129 well yea I think formulaic music is "bad" and uninspired but I think there's plenty of good music that is "simplistic". "Aphex twin- rhubarb", "sunn O)))- why dost thou hide thyself in clouds" and the piano track in eyes wide shut are some good examples. I feel like the best way to convey melancholy or evoke a meditative state is through simplicity.

I think it’s an RG270 or some trash like that. Had it for like 24 years.
@BrainDestroyer132 жыл бұрын
@@scaleitback1055 I got an RG270 a few months back for a very good price in a pawn shop (the only way I could afford a guitar of this type). It's at the very least 20 years old, but it's in good condition. It has some problems, but regardless of that it's a big step up from my El Cheapo Loco strat copy. However the shared opinion amongst most who have tried or owned one is that the stock bridge is of terrible quality (mostly regarding tuning stability). What is the bridge on yours like? I locked mine since it's missing the trem bar and fittings, so I don't know if I should just find the missing pieces or just buy a new bridge outright.

This is not a bad video, but you never considered adding whistling. A Gothenburg renaissance is waiting to happen -- someone needs to take inspiration from the new Polyphia song, and add maroon 5-esque melodic whistling over their epic riffs

Check out imperial triumphant's new song featuring Kenny G if you get a chance. I know you hate the whole Avant garde "dissonant" style bands but IT are definitely one of the more art focus bands.
@scaleitback10552 жыл бұрын
I don’t hate that style on principle, it’s just that it’s so close to being substantial that it’s more frustrating than derivative stuff that isn’t posturing. So much of it, despite trying to turn convention on its head, uses basic formulas to shock when there are much more narrative-driven ways to do it substantially. This band you linked reminds me of Thantifaxath. It’s entertaining for a listen. I’m getting super exhausted with the Eyes Wide Shut/shadow government imagery now though. I’m pretty sure we all accept it’s a bunch of demonic hedonists in power controlling everything but I just don’t care. It’s still the basic human corruption narrative. Let’s go deeper.
