Well you know it's a bad sign when John Travolta has a passion project that comes out of development hell.
@JaycRam6 жыл бұрын
Travolta's choices in projects lately have been questionable. If he ever signs on for a fourth Look Who's Talking movie, Tarantino will have no choice but to come along and re-resurrect the man's career.
@zakkizer24905 жыл бұрын
though QT and Pulp Fiction did clear the way for Travolta to get funding for Battlefield Earth, so maybe his career should stay dead this time

@anikmonette21402 жыл бұрын
@@danielthenorwegianguy I was about to say that, because "trusting" anyone else's taste is utterly moronic. That's why I don't necessarily trust my friend when it comes to movies or music as we have different tastes and perspectives. Same for him(our tastes often intersect but if we recommend stuff to each other it comes with some caveats).

I had a feeling this was going to be crap when I saw Travolta and John Gotti Jr. doing an interview with CNN and Travolta was so angry and defensive and Jr was just going on about how charming and handsome his father was and how much his suits cost.
@BruceGiffordJustMyOpinion6 жыл бұрын
As being someone who knew nothing about John Gotti, I can attest to just how confused I was seeing this movie. Glad you thought it was random and had no flow. Funny this gets uploaded just after I finish editing my own review.
@SilverSurfer1666 жыл бұрын
It's so stupid for the Movie Studios to say that Movie Critics are just trolls, and that they wanted to hate this movie going in. According to the Studios, they have never made a Bad Movie, they only make great movies, but the Critics are just trolls and you shouldn't trust anyone who doesn't love this movie. What a load of crap. A bad movie is a bad movie, no matter who says it sucked, the audience or a critic.

This movie has a Pitbull song playing at a party........in the 80’s
@DonaldRilea6 жыл бұрын
Judging from the review here, it seems to me, particularly with the description of the use of the songs listed, that the makers might have tried to make a "Goodfellas" style mob movie, but they didn't make the context for their use clear enough. Just a guess, though.

Isn’t this that movie that former Howard Stern employee, Stuttering John Mendez, was a producer?
@nathanmiller82136 жыл бұрын
Generally, not always (since someone will name the exception s), but generally when a movie is in development for a long time the project will be either the work of a committee or the result of the screenwriters continually changing things to get it made. And a good product will almost never result from either approach (again, with exceptions).

Screen Junkies/Dan Murril does a segment called Charting with Dan. It goes over the box office numbers for the weekend. He noticed some funny-business related to the RT audience score for Gotti. Looks lìke the score is being manipulated by people who registered in June, have only given 1 review (Gotti) and giving it glowing reviews. He also noted that Moviepass partnered with the studio to release this movie and then 40% of the box office for Gotti was Moviepass. I find this crazy scenario intriguing.

I can see why people do not like it. Much of the movie focuses on John Gotti Jr. Sometimes it feels like Jr is more of the focus than Sr even though Sr narrates The movie is long. If you are not interested in what is going on it can be boring. I liked it. I found it cool John Travolta and Kelly Preston are in it as man and wife since they are married in real life.

Problem though is you can have a movie that's long without feeling long. It's all about the presentation. The film's weird time jumps don't help either.
