Warren is awesome and it is no surprise to me that he would perform such a great tribute to his fellow brother Forest Richard Betts Warren also performed a wonderful tribute for brother Greggory when he passed others came and moved on since 1971 when brother Duane passed and later brother Berry but Warren loves the band like it was his own I have seen him many many times I was blessed to make the Beacon run almost every year from 2000 till 2014 the last year. God bless you Warren you truly are a Allman Brother thank you

You are blessed to see that much ABB...at Beacon or anywhere. Warren and Derek on stage guaranteed magic every night. But it's all possible because of Dickey Betts

What a wonderful tribute to Dickey. Warren is a monster with that LP. What a beautiful tone. I fell in love with Blue Sky the first time I heard it, oh so many years ago when I bought Eat A Peach on vinyl when it was released. Thank you Dickey and may you Rest In Peace.

You can hear so much of Dickie in Warren’s style, it goes right down to the core. As a guitar player from the 60s and 70s, we all stole from Dickie Betts.

Dickie opened the great show in ‘77 at JFK Stadium with this song. It still rings in my ears just as he meant it, it was a beautiful day in June with a Blue Sky, I was 18, Skynyrd was on the ticket with Peter Frampton and J Giles, and all was right with the world. Joy. Pure Joy.

I was having lunch with one of my closet friends at On The Border and Stevie Ray Vaughn was playing. We started talking guitar players and he brought up the Allman Brothers. I said there was no greater duo than Duane and Dickey. An hour later I saw on TV that Dickey had passed. --In Memory of Dickey Betts.

I felt the mourning in his playing,... the sorrow in his voice... I have studied many guitar players,... none more soulful and unique than "Dickey" Betts. He taught me to keep playing, even if you missed the note... you'll get it. Mountain Jam was a tour de force of improve and exploration... the ultimate jam band... the Allman Brothers...!

I know it’s a while but I’m still crying over Dickie. Yeah, I met him decades ago along with thousands of others. But if you ever got to spend some time with these southern rockers from the 70s you’d know how kind these guys were. True Southern hospitality! One big family. I hung with the Jacksonville and Macon crowd in 1977-79. Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, CDB, ABB and more. Now I’m 66 with wonderful memories. But my friends are slowly graduating to Heaven. My time is coming. I plan to jam with Duane and Dicky on this song. ✝️

I had the honor of seeing Warren, Dickey, and Allen Woody play with the Allman Brothers in 1997. It was the best concert I've ever seen. The guitar tones were top of the top shelf and the playing was stellar. Dickey was clearly the leader of the pack onstage. This tribute brought some much needed years to my eyes and I'm so thankful these folks brought this music to life.

God - I just can't. 😢 I am reading a book called "Twilight Of The Gods" which centers on the "end" of classic rock - and I am deeply saddened to lose Dickey. This performance made me cry, and I'm thrilled that people like WH can carry the torch. If not, we are bereft of all that amazing music and artistry from 1970-1975
@danielcrescenzo3542 ай бұрын
In the soundtrack of my life, the brothers go back farther than I can remember. Pops grew up in FL in the 60’s and 70’s, used to catch them in clubs. We always spun the first album and the Fillmore concerts when I was a little kid in the 80’s, when I was a bigger kid, used to catch them everywhere I could, which was about 5 shows a tour in New England. Jaimoe is the last of the OG’s, but damn man, all these dudes who cycled through are something special, Warren, Jack, Jimmy, Oteil, Allen, Marc, and Derek. I see any of those names and the ticket is as good as bought, I won’t even start on the Col. Bruce road that Oteil and Jimmy introduced me to. Y’all want to jump in the deep end of great jam bands, here’s the diving board.
