@@brianag9726 I feel like America would need to make it easier for people to vote if compulsory voting was introduced. From what I’ve read/heard it can be really hard for some to vote. Haha yep! Some people have voting parties. There is also always a sausage sizzle at most voting places so you can get yourself a democratic sausage and bread 😂😂. Sometimes there’ll be people there with cakes and biscuits. They try to make it as nice as possible for us!

New Zealand checking in. I've been watching and learning about US politics ever since Trump ran and (unbelievably) got elected. It's been like a long, slow, NSFW train wreck. This was a great video outlining how it all works and why it's so important to vote so that shit show doesn't have a chance to repeat itself. I am a cis woman who was on puberty blockers from 8-11 years old, and I can't imagine how my life would have been if I hadn't been able to have access to them. The GQP arguments against use of puberty blockers is a completely bad faith argument - just like their campaign to try and prevent access to abortion when one of the common medications used (for the 2 part chemical? procedure - I feel like chemical is the wrong term, my brain is blanking on the proper one) is causing issues for people who rely on that medication for treatment of their RA and other immune disorders.

I was looking for an intro USA 3 branches of government from Crash Course and I did not want to get into checks and balances yet. Limited on time I saw your video, scanned real quick and saw it had what we needed. In the middle of class my refugee and asylee students hear “slut strands” and “eat ass”. I know. I should’ve watched the whole thing, I should’ve just known because obviously it’s Jonathan (who I love) and what else should I expect. But dude… Crash Course is in your title and that led me to assume this would be classroom friendly. *sigh* I stopped the video, apologized profusely and went back over to Crash Course: Checks and balances. Anyhow, thank you for the information. Sorry it’s not usable for the classroom.

I appreciate the sentiment but what do you suggest for areas with high corruption and intense gerrymandering. Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Arizona all have a long history of corruption and the districts are gerrymandered in a way where minority votes can’t really make any impact
