Their dynamics are next level. It reminds me of how music sounded before the compression wars.

It's the same on her debut album (Wine On Venus) from last August. Beautifully recorded.

Too bad the mix was so questionable. Not sure what the sound engineer was thinking or hearing but this was a mess. 😔

Sounds good to my ears, I'm not hearing a mess. Note that the engineer is mixing live, and sitting 6 feet away from the performance, no isolation. He's hearing the mix in his headphones along with the live drums and amps in the room. It is challenging to hear the mix when hearing the drum/amp bleed at a louder level than the mix itself. I'm not making any excuses, I think the mix sounds great. I am only adding context to the recording challenges faced by the engineer in this scenario, I think he rose to the occasion beautifully.

@dekarbakerdrums the band is great, not saying otherwise, but this is not a good mix. It's okay though the new album sounds great.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jPm56fZs9rbLcsi=FGvQYn-BVS5kgILy this is the bar you should set for yourself----expressive-clean high caliber guitar slingin--less effects--practice finding the notes to create your lead runs---Dave Edmunds-[love scultpture days]...garry Moore etc--own your solos--to do so you must ring out those notes-loud and clean---you are more a rythmn player now----practice and become a master---relying on your picking and lead contractions that express your raw emotions....kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqjGaI17jsuKj8Usi=Ao6OnHceqcdCFY4G

@@yendorcire you do not play the guitar--and are inexperienced music lover..I have a wealth of musical knowledge as a music listener/lover and as a player. She is evolving. And if she wants to reach her full potential..she needs to adjust her style and playing----typical for a new player. My advise is vital to her evolution and in becoming the best version of herself. Amateurs like you--a neophyte. Are impressed by anything...just like the millions who think Tay;or swift is such a talent....those people--like you--have no frame of REFERENCE....everything in life...is RELATIVE...I know what excellent playin' sounds like--and Ms Bowers is far from that level..she is an amateur and needs direction ...she may not be capable of performing like the greats...but she should try....

@ lol. OK bro. She's not new. She's the toast of the town. She performed at the Grammys. You're a random jerkoff in the comments, criticizing her like she's some kid you can bully. As for me, you're as wrong about that as everything else. Go back to your fantasy life and leave real people alone until you can be nice.
