in accordance with what Grace is saying, I find that it’s worth reworking the definition of the word ‘perfect’ . if I get up to stuff in life that makes my heart happy, how it goes may be very, very messy, but I call that mess ‘perfect’, & consider it to be superior to the ‘false perfection’ of being reserved . who wouldn’t rather confidently stumble forward in life? . whatever grace we will associate with our behaviour, that comes after stumbling . the key question for me is, ‘do I give myself permission to make mistakes?’ . & if I do, everything is so much more fun . how can I give all my heart if I’m afraid of making mistakes? in other words, there is a profound perfection in simply standing up and meeting life face-to-face, so the consequences, even if it means you looked like a fool because you attempted something you weren’t yet good at, cannot erode the marvellous, powerful, & simple fact: that you dared
