Tried it a couple of years ago: covered all my grays along the hairline, without staining the skin, but boy oh boy…….it looked so unnatural and i had people stairing at my hair all the time! Also don’t like the sticky texture on my hair, plus the staining of my fingers everytime i touch my hair, even after it ‘dried’ up. I ditched it in the garbage bin. Transitioned gracefully to a greyhead and never felt so free in my life. Guess what…nobody is staring at my hair nomore and i get compliments all the time♥️

Indeed, looks weird, staining on my fingers and glasses and black nose because of my glasses who are on my head. It’s not a good way so will transition to grey also, have developed allergy to hair colorings though the years..

Great advice re dye root touch-ups. My aunty, now 81yrs god love her, has been having her silver roots touched-up every few weeks at a salon for over 40yrs and is now suffering from skin cancer eruptions along the root line. She is now a regular at the skin cancer salon. For dark hair like yours, try rosemary water: collect an armful of rosemary prunings. Chop them into a rice cooker or large pot and cover with water. Cover and boil for about 40mins - 1hr. Strain and bottle. Keep the bottles in the fridge so they don't go moldy. Bring to room temp and use as a rinse after each washing of the hair. Works a treat, even on my red hair and eyebrows to keep the colour. And no chemicals. Leaves hair very soft. Use an old towel just as you would for any dye.
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri5 жыл бұрын
Awww poor thing. So sorry about your aunt. Thanks for the great tips though. I will try that! I like to do a scalp massage with cacay oil or jojoba oil and I add a couple drops of Rosemary essential oil but I like your tip better! Can't wait to try it!

Dinorah Padro I’ve searched and searched there’s no way around it lol. It’ll be painful for a while growing it out I think. I’ve considered it myself. My neighbor went and had her existing red dye stripped out to blonde and dyed silver to ease her transition and in a week it was just platinum blonde lol. I just can’t bring myself to go through that transition stage but I am seriously sick and tired of battling gray roots.
@B4-1light6 жыл бұрын
Monique Gebeline I completely hear you! I also was so done with coloring! It felt like fighting with my own body! Shortly after writing that comment, I actually ended up cutting off all of my dyed hair. Now, I sport a cute pixie cut with my pristine salt and pepper natural color. Getting compliments everyday! Lol! Yes, I do miss the length, but I’ll keep being patient as it grows out. The hair dying process is just not for me anymore. I honor and respect every person’s journey. Perhaps there is a decisive moment for each person when they reach a moment of no return. Wishing you a bright and beautiful expression of yourself at every step of the journey, wherever it leads you. ❤️🌟

I've got a great idea for spray coloring the hairs around the forehead so it doesn't look like a cap. Take a fine tooth comb and lay it against the forehead and push up as if you're pushing the comb into the hair but just keep it there and then spray. That way the hairs get the spray but the forehead doesn't.

Awww thanks so much and I agree with you 100%. I'm fine with aging, but I'm not trying to just give up and look older than I feel. I still feel like I'm 18...and act like it sometimes too. LOL I know some people say to stop doing all of this and just let the grays show and be natural and embrace nature and the aging process, etc etc, BUT if that's the case, then I shouldn't wear makeup, shouldn't shave my arm pits (well I don't I have laser hair removal LOL), shouldn't pluck my brows, shouldn't wear spanx. LOL I get it that some women want to be gray and they look beautiful but I don't feel pretty with gray and I enjoy wearing makeup. I want to age gracefully, hence the name of my channel. Thanks so much for your comment. Hope you have a great week!

@@GracefulBeautyWithSheriThank you so much for sharing your thoughts. It's very natural of you for telling what's in your heart..and I just felt the same way too! We're just loving ourselves and trying to be true to what we feel. I've been thinking about embracing my gray hair forever as tobwhat my mother has done. But deep down inside, it's not me..it's not being vain or trying to please others but it's how you feel good about yourself. How you like others to treat you the way you wanted to be treated. I've come to a point to just be myself. As I age, I became more conscious and cautious about how I look..I'd rather be bold and beautiful in my own right than to be miserable and resentful because I did not listen to what my heart's desires.

Here’s a great tip that I use: buy a pair of thin white cotton gloves, like at the drug store or beauty store - I’ve even found them at thrift shops - and use them when you use the spray root touch ups. Your hands, nails and jewelry stay clean, and you can just throw the gloves in the laundry with towels to wash!

The more important for you is to feel confident, with natural or coloured hair :) And for your problem, I know that there are some coloured sticks to correct the roots, maybe it could be a better solution than a spray for you. Lucille Young I know what ya mean. I don't feel pretty and I feel old when I have gray/white hair. Some women look so pretty with gray hair but it's just not for me. Whatever makes you feel beautiful is what you should do. That's what I'm doing. I'm hearing many people say the spray by loreal makes their head itch. I haven't tried it. I never have that issue with the rita hazan or gray away. I have tried topiks spray too and it stains and comes off easily.

Did you know that really dark hair (like yours) highlights wrinkled facial skin? So as you age and get drier skin, you want to subtly lighten your hair just a bit. The lighter color doesn't call as much attention to drier, wrinkled skin.

Thank you so much! You’re a gorgeous woman and I love your videos. I have grey in the same places you do and only color every two months or so. Coloring for brunettes can be harsh and you can get thinning around the edges of your hairline. I love using those sprays but never thought of using a mascara wand to apply part of it. What a great idea! Less of it ending up on your face. Lol
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri6 жыл бұрын
Awe thanks a ton. So very kind of you. It is such a challenge for sure! I LOVE the mascara on the little hairs around my face. I can't believe I never tried it sooner! Exactly, I used to have that thick spray line too close to the hair line and it looked horrid. Of course freshly coloring my hair looks the best, but seriously who can color every 2 weeks and it's not like it is "healthy" LOL Thanks a ton for watching! New video should be up late tonight on "gift giving ideas for men"...my husband told me what he wanted so I put it in a video. :)

I find these kind of products make my hair feel like cardboard .I think the coverage is good but not the texture it gives to your hair.My hairdresser also said they find that when she puts on the salon colour it doesn't absorb as well as hair that hasn't had very concealers on. I'm really considering letting mine go grey it can look fantastic even on young woman.
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jane! Yes my hair isn't soft where I apply these products. Even when I color my hair at home, I make sure the spray is washed out the day before I color, otherwise the coloring won't penetrate as well. Gray hair is definitely a hassle. Absolutely, a lot of ladies have let theirs go gray and it is a trend with the young ones. And they look beautiful! You do what makes you feel pretty. That's what matters. Thanks so much for your comment, hope you have a wonderful weekend!

My hair is the same! I look like a skunk after about a week/week and a half. I just buy Revlon Colorsilk, $2.87 at Wal-Mart. I just do my roots, about every 10 days or so. I like your idea for around the face. That is the reason I havent cared for the sprays.
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri6 жыл бұрын
I know. LOL. Me too! Ive been gray ever since I was 25. Boooo! But yes, you should try this one around your face. It has totally cut back on how often I color my hair. I used to have to do every 10 days too but now I can literally stretch it out to 3-4 weeks thanks to this. And ugh, yes the sprays look crazy around the face. I haven't tried the Revlon Colorsilk yet. Will have to try it.

Excellent video lovely lady. Great Tips. Greying white hair is nothing to do with age. Can be lack of Iron in body, circulation- yoga the fish prose helps and massaging head each day for a few mins. Don't wash with hot water as this dries hair. Massage hair oil once a week n leave on for 1/2 hrs . Then wash off. Other causes is 1- stress so get your sleep. Lack of VIT B people is cause of insomnia. Iron, Biotin, selenium, zinc excellent for skin, hair, nails. Walnuts have magnesium ( great if you get migraines 1 walnut is enough). Avoid nuts, achaar ( pickle) if you are on your periods as these foods are warm and will cause breakouts on your skin and heavy flow. For Lipoma Lumps eat tumeric/ add to your foods. Flax seeds n apricot have omega 3 great for lumps. AvIOD cakes, fizzy drinks, fried foods, ice cream , doughnuts, jam if you gave lumps. Circulation is key so exercise, walk each day then brisk walk gradually. Always warm-up before you run, dance, you/ jump.

Ooooh the things we do for vanity's sake. It makes me sooo tired.
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't consider wanting to do a quick root touch up the same as vanity. Now if I/someone were to obsess over my/their looks and spend hours doing hair, makeup and in the mirror all day, every day, then yes that sounds like total vanity for sure. I think it's quite healthy to take care of our appearance, learn tips and tricks to age gracefully BUT without obsessing over it and making it our whole focus in life. I do agree with ya that it is tiring sometimes...and when I feel like that, I just don't put on makeup and don't do my hair. I'm lucky if I feel like brushing my hair somedays! LOL 🤪
