Excellent tutorial that's makes it look like I can do this at home! I had gone to my colorist/hairdresser every 4 weeks for the last ten years. We both retired, and I can no longer afford a monthly colorist and "need" to do this myself and haven't had a best results. Tried semi-permanent last week, and it didn't take, then tried again this morning, and it looks like crap. I will order Madison Reed, follow the video and pray. Watching this video is giving me the confidence I need to try again. Thank you Dinna!

Hi, Dinna. I am also a hereditary grey girl. I have a daughter with the best , most thick hair who also got this, sorry Amanda. I went blonde at age 40 due to this as I was coloring my hair every 3-4 weeks. Now, I color every 12 weeks as the white blends. Also, I went shorter. I use a Capri blonde and love it. Thanks for the video.

When the corona virus shut everything down, I panicked. I had colored my hair when I was young, but now, I'm 71. HOWEVER, everyone has complimented me on my hair color. Got someone to check for places that I'd missed & they said there were no "places"! My hair is better than ever. This is better than what my stylist uses at his salon & he is very picky! I've already asked him if I could bring my own color, but pay him the same. That's how much I like it! He said "YES". It appears to be good for your hair!

Thank you! I've tried so many different ways of applying my color to my roots myself and have had so much trouble. Following this tutorial has made the application so much easier. I wear glasses and don't have a good mirror setup behind me to see the back of my head while both my hands are occupied. So using the page flipping method, as well as having PLENTY of color and brushing it onto both sides of the root with each section was game changing for me. Can't thank you enough !

I’ve had so many hairdressers try to scare me away from dying my own hair by warning me that special steps have to be taken before you can safely and effectively dye grey hair. A little trick I use if my barrier cream doesn’t block color from staining my skin, is glycolic acid. I’m a sensitive skin type so I don’t use any AHA’s for a week prior. After I wash the color out, I use any AHA (exfoliates top layer of skin) on hairline stains. Hope that helps

What if you’ve never used this before? Couldn’t the roots end up a different color than the rest of your hair if your only doing the roots? My roots aren’t all grey but I have some and I’d like to cover it. My roots that aren’t grey are actually darker than the rest of my hair. Once my hair gets in the sun it starts to get lighter so my roots are darker( my natural hair color)

Morning, and thank you for reaching out to Madison Reed. We'd love to help you find your perfect match and have a few questions for you in order to give you the best possible personalized consultation. 1) What is the texture of your hair? (Normal, Fine, Coarse) 2) What is your porosity? (Is your hair dry or in good condition?) 3) What is your natural hair color (Medium brown, Light brown, Light blonde, etc) 4) Do you have any gray? (What percentage?) 5) What is your desired result? You can send this to us in a private message, and we can consult with you on the best way to move away from black hair color. 💜

I am a male. Have thin fine hair. I have white hair coming in, like 40 percent white. My hair color on is brown, like Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr. (on a hair ring it’s #3). I am using Matrix Socolor 7AA (to avoid reddish tint in lights, or orange and that works well). I used to use 6AA but barber said it’s too dark. Since my white hair is accelerating fast (not gray, white like Santa), my normal 50 percent color and 50 percent #10 toner I would apply and wait 15 minutes. I don’t want to burn my thin fine hair so scared to use 20. Not sure if my fear is correct though. Anyway, my white hair is not taking the color. It appears like a tiny bit clearly you can see the white hair still. You recommend 45 minutes. Is this safe? Is my problem due to toner strength? Old toner (not sure how to tell). The color mixes as it should. Should I be using a different ratio? Until now before I had a lot of white hair, it looked great, but, now it’s not. Is it too soon to retry, it’s been about 7 days. What can I do to get my thin fine white hair to absorb the color? Thank you.

Hi Dinna, just seen your tutorial and really enjoyed it and yes learned from it in a few ways, 🙏 THANK YOU! Where can you get a level five hair dye? Do you sell them? The dyes I’ve used cover my hair pretty much but there’s those areas that come out this strange color, more with a grayish tone I guess I’m saying. Your hair color looked so deep, rich, shiny and healthy. But most of all your color looked true all the way around, very evenly. It looked beautiful and you did a awesome job! Can you advise me ? Hi, today I will do the following... I have been dying my hair dark brown with the age defy box. I bought dark blonde natural from Loreal preference and will mix it with 2 or 3 package of ardell red, gold, corrector. I have a lot of greys on the root like you. Should I start from the ends and then to the root or start from the root and then the whole hair? Please advise. Thank you.☺

I was 16 when a guy found my 1st gray hair At A Party! I was standing talking to a group of friends, it was truly devastating. He stood there holding it up to the light saying something like this is impossible. I was speechless. It's not like I had a whole lot going for me standing at 5'3" and 130lbs. LOL That 130lbs sounds good now but back then it was equivalent to 180lbs. I was hoping you could tell me if there's a way to dye your hair brown and get a reddish highlight that will come out looking natural. I had a dark brown color with beautiful red highlights but honestly cant find a color to match. I also have thought of trying to dye my hair sliver, but fear I'll look much older or washed out. I'm 53 yo almost 54 yo and haven't ever had my hair done professionally. I know it's the only way to guarantee a good job but I've been doing my hair a long time now. Honestly cant really afford the prices they charge. If I decide to go silver I'd most likely go in or have my friend melissa do it. She owned her own shop when she was younger and had done a beautiful job highlighting my hair once. Thank you for sharing and look forward to your possible answer.

Great tutorial! I’m greying around my edges and it’s so frustrating. My hair is very sensitive to all dyes and usually breaks off/thins after a a few applications. I’m truly praying Madison Reed is the remedy to this problem. I receive my kit in a few days. Uber excited.

It is a great one of a kind product for learning how to reverse gray hair fast minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.

I too am 71 and have the same as you. But I use a good quality shampoo and a conditioner that is light as I have fine lanky hair. Then I use a rub in mud, that is the catalyst to it being perky when I blow wave! A good cut helps as well!

Good day am happy running into this video however i would rather not use a developer in my natural hair even though i have that stubborn gray, so what’s my best option please?

Love your video, you gave really good advise for coloring. Could you give me some advise for doing the back of the hair. I have a mirror front and back, but have a problem splitting the sections to cover all the greys

I do it with the bottle. I put my head to my knees and go with the bottle each half cm from neck to front. From right to left. Or from left to right. Like you want. At least I go to the front and look where colour is missing. Then a bit massage with cloves, that the colour is everywhere. I need 60 minutes to wait, or my grey hair keeps grey. And I look fresh again. 😉 Sorry, english is not my motherlanguage, but I hope, you understand what I mean.

You didn’t show how you do the entire back. It’s difficult to reach and see the back.

so I see how to color the roots but how do you get the allover color also? I have greys throughout the rest of my hair but mostly on the front and part so want an all over color too

You made it look so easy I get into muddle that's a beautiful colour what is it and your end result was absolutely gorgeous xx

Okay Madison, you still make it look much easier than it really is to do. I had no problem with the front or the main "Parts" but in the back of my head and trying to hold a mirror and make sure not to get it any where else? Ha!!

How does the process of going grew begin? I’m 58 and so tired of dying roots every 3 weeks! I saw a beautiful grey on Pinterest that had such nice dark shades of grey, so pretty!
