I have used the Graco G-10 gun mostly, which some would consider a four finger gun, but you don't have to use four fingers. Graco does make the best airless gun, imo, and Binks makes the best conventional gun, I really like the Binks model 62 conventional gun. Depending on the job size, but the small conventional air pots by Binks, like their 2 gal size pot, matched with a model 62, is sweet. You can switch out the needle, head, and air cap size depending on the material your spraying. It only takes a few minutes. Also, Titan makes a very nice airless called the Speeflo, I think, you can get both electric motor and a gas motor, which comes in very handy when electric might be an issue, or tripping a circuit breaker. They are expensive.

I use a graco silver plus 2 on my on my airless rig at work (pre finish door shop.) I love the ladder hook and do similar with hooking on buckets. We have 4 of the silver 2 guns and some of them are old as dirt and still chugging perfect. Whilst a heavier duty gun I envy the ease of the filter cleaning on the contractor. Great videos!

Nice review. I use an ASM 400-1 gun I got at least 15 years ago. That split-handle gun was a great upgrade to a home-jobber airless pump (it made a noticible difference in spray quality on my old, anemic Wagner 505 pump). You can still buy that gun but with 2-finger grip -- No ladder hook though. I liked the fluted lower handle body as it give good grip and makes it easy to remove the filter. I went and bought a new Graco ProX19 cart sprayer and was dissapointed to find it's got a non-split-handle gun. Likely to meet a consumer price point and not undercut their pro-line - since Graco owns ASM, you'd think they could just use the ASM 400 gun as it's $125 retail....ah marketing..the price of the Graco Contractor PC gun is a bit expensive for us DIY guys [edit: but I see they still have the base Graco Contractor gun which is only $160 retail]

Miguel Camacho , graco 395. buy it once, cry once! digital control spray pressure keeps your spray pattern constant. You wont regret it. usuallly around $900-1000

Miguel Camacho I've used a 395 for several years now and they hold up pretty good. They're easy to carry around and You can actually change the pump at your job site if you run into any problems while working (VERY CONVENIENT) The only downside to them is that you'll run into a lot of issues when using thick paint. You'll need to get a bigger machine if you plan on using very thick paint. I'm getting a 490 this week and I'm hoping it holds up much better

I Haven't tried this gun before but I have 2 lx80 Titans and 2 RX pro Titans. The RX pro is my favorite right now but it is kind of a pain to get the filter out for cleaning. Gotta have the 2 finger trigger, so nice. I also like how the RX pro has 3 different ways to hang it from buckets/ladders. Curious why you don't like the the RX Pros? Only down side I see is the filter access and the expensive cost....just my 2 cents worth.

Which Graco contractor gun are you talking about in this video. The amazon link takes me to model 288420 with the RAC X setup but in your Graco repacking video the link takes me to the 288421 which has the RAC 5 setup. I want to try out the gun from your video but just need a model number so I can order the right one. Are they the same gun and is everything interchangeable?

Michael johnstone, they are ALL the same gun, they just have different tips. Do you want to buy your tips at Home Depot or a proper paint store like Sherwin Williams? The RAC X guard accepts more tips (and better tips) but they don’t sell them at most “Home Stores”. You could always just buy a different tip guard. If all else fails, just READ the descriptions.

so I don't know where to ask you specific painting questions or how so I'm just going to ask you question that does not pertain to the video. but going forward I would like to know where can I submit my paint related questions. Ok so I'm painting T-111 and siding its peeling and flaking and so I scraped all the peeling paint then sanded and primed those areas! but I can still see where I scraped those areas even after I prepped them! so is there anything I can apply to feel those areas because just primer and paint does not do it?! so frustrating it makes my job look bad. need help thanks

How important is/when to screen your paint ? What do you use in your sprayers between jobs /storage ...summer /winter , I'm using a Lemmer 3100 , but as I do full home renos ( kind of Jack of All Trades ) I probably only use the sprayer 3-4 year When thinning out paint for sprayer , what do you typically use ....for latex ...for oil ? Do you ever thin out paint when rolling ? ( any tricks of the trade , sort of things ? ) Do you ever/often use a slowing agent ? ie; ( Flowtrol , as purely an example ) Thanks Bob from Calgary

Kevin Kevech any paint that is satin..never use Sherwin Williams paint...there paint isn't as good as used to be...behr has a good paint...you can brush or roll them or spray them if you have access to a sprayer..but if you want to use the best it's PPG sun proof satin...I'm a painter in Texas with over 30yrs experience..

I really like the functionality of the contractor ii but I seem to have issues with the bearing needle tip getting a groove in it and will struggle to seal.
