No, that’s a stupid line. Why does your “country” (which is an abstract figment of our collective imaginations defined by arbitrary lines carved up by historic and contemporary violence) deserve loyalty?
@gustavomarcondes39082 ай бұрын
@ Because of a simple concept: Out of all the lines and circles created by people, you were born in one of them. And a lot of others as well. That simple line you mentioned determines what laws apply to certain areas of the world, and unites the people born in it by common experiences. And, most simple of all, that terribly drawn circle that you were born in will have your best interest at heart more than any other circle out there in the world. Your logic can be applied to basically anything (specially family) leading to, essentially, anarchy and apathy, which are not values anyone would ever want to have. I have not given enough thought about it, but maybe another gentleman would elaborate a better answer. Have yourself a good day.

@duderyandude95152 ай бұрын
@@Batmann_ 1) Not a KH voter. I’m not even from the “USA”. Kamala is a neoliberal that is currently funding a genocide. I couldn’t be further from a fan. 2) That same thought experiment about people voting for the Democrats because they always do can also be flipped to Trump. The analogous phrase is “vote red til I’m dead”. 3) I can have the best interests of my fellow countrymen in mind and still not be loyal to country. In fact, I have the best interests of EVERYONE in the world at heart, not limited to ridiculous nationalities or borders. Don’t you?
@duderyandude95152 ай бұрын
@@gustavomarcondes3908 I also share common experiences with people of the same sexuality, gender, race, Doctor Who fans, autistic people, etc. I don’t think that should be a basis for loyalty towards any of these groups. And I agree, you can extend this logic to the family… and I do. My family were incredibly abusive and definitely didn’t have my best interests at heart, yet the same argument you made could be made to justify me being loyal to my family. And as it happens, since you brought up anarchy, I am an anarchist (which means something different to what you probably think it means). I oppose all hierarchical power structures, one of which is the nation state. Anarchists recognise that states don’t hold the best interests of “their” citizens at all, but act as the only legally sanctioned violence-doers that enforce the will of mostly capitalists, but will also seek to violently defend their own power if ever challenged or threatened by the people. This doesn’t make me apathetic, quite the opposite. I’m passionate about defending the people. My allegiance is first and foremost to the people, not these imaginary states that enact very real violence.

the fact that grade is the same guy who vehemently opposed Obama’s campaign where he states that he’ll close Guantanamo Bay (despite the fact Obama signed Executive Order 13492, back in 09’ but was blocked due to bipartisan opposition from congress) and it still being open to this day. He used this as a _very_ strong example of why you shouldn’t trust politicians before they get into office. Donald himself, fits this category. In his attempt to lower costs for everyday Americans, his “plan” that isn’t a concept, is to implement tarrifs. Now despite the fact that these can actually make prices higher, Trump opposed any idea of this being the case. Now, Trump has stated that he “can’t promise” that prices will get lower. If Trump can’t even fulfill his promises with the Border Wall having Mexico pay for it, or even Lowering Prices, then why does Grade A Under A even support ANY presidential candidate, at all, especially if “they’re all corrupt bro”, let alone make any type of video shilling out to Donald Trump out of everyone, especially the fact he’s a billionaire, globalist, supported by Israel (a very hated country within his constituates), and an overall member of the high elite, why is grade giving any support? Is it because grade an under a is a horrible place to learn politics? Yes.

Spreading lies that were started by a neo-Nazi group called "Blood Tribe" about Haitian immigrants eating cats is a good thing? Trump is good on inflation? We'll see about that when he institutes a 20% tariff on ALL imported products and makes the average American have to pay an extra $4000 a year for groceries. Trump's food health policy is good? Deregulating the deli meat industry and causing a listeria outbreak that killed nearly 60 people is a good thing? Trump is good on corruption? The man that took $100 million from Miriam Adelson and in return promised to allow Israel to annex the West Bank, took $100s of millions from Saudi Arabia and his son-in-law took $2 billion from Saudi Arabia and in return he gave them $200 billion worth of weapons and didn't punish them even a little for the murder of Jamal Kashoggi, took $1 million from big banks for his inauguration and then ordered the DoJ to drop charges they were going to levy against the banks isn't corruption? Trump is anti-war? The man that increased drone strikes (which kill 90% civilians) by 432%, dropped more bombs in the middle east in 2 years than Obama dropped in 8, killed an 8 year old American girl in his first military raid that he approved, bombed Syria to quote "take the oil", ripped up the Iran deal and the Cuba deal, assassinated Iranian General Qassem Soleimani who was training soldiers to fight ISIS, didn't withdraw from Iraq, didn't withdraw from Afghanistan, increased military spending massively, appointed neoconservative war criminals and Guantanamo bay torturers like Gina Haspel, John Bolton and Mike Pompeio in his administration, wants to invade and start a war with Mexico, that man is anti-war? Grade seriously believes that there was election fraud in 2020? There were 60 court cases and they were all dismissed even by Trump appointed judges. Also Grade won't tell you that Trump gutted internet privacy rights, proposed a healthcare bill with less than 20% approval, called for the death penalty for drug dealers (unconstitutional), wanted to send the national guard against American citizens and peaceful protrsters (unconstitutional), thinks climate change is a hoax and pulled out of the Paris climate agreement, banned trans people from the military, appointed 3 Supreme Court Justices which led to the overturning of Roe v Wade and now in half the country women don't own their bodies, wants to ban in vitro fertilization, wants to abolish the Department of Education, deregulated banks and corporations even allowing companies to pollute the waterways and gave huge tax cuts to the rich. @GradeAunderA I'm a former jet engine technician, and the whole bushing thing isn't really that much of a scam. 90k is still pretty high, but in civil aviation, the price wouldn't be much cheaper. Without details about the material, I'd guess 20k for the bag. So still bad, but not as bad. What makes aviation parts so expensive is the paper trail and liability behind. If one of those bushings fails and causes a crash, the manufacturer is liable for the damage, which can easily be 100s of millions with (especially military) aircraft crashes
@ProfestionalCrayonEater2 ай бұрын
some materials more critical than others but it's not an excuse to rob the tax payers 💀
@CheesusCrustus2 ай бұрын
@ProfestionalCrayonEater Yeah, I think it's still on the high side, but not abnormally in the aviation sector. I've seen weird shit, like a bucket of special lube costing $2500. Ball and roller bearings usually cost around roughly 10k each. Really small ones, maybe $800, big ones can cost around 30k. Aviation in general, is horrendously expensive. I've worked mostly on PW150As, which are relatively cheap engines (like 1.3m used), and even those had the aforementioned prices. So if it's for an aircraft that can go Mach 2? Really, no big surprise. The US spends way too much on the military (in my opinion), but the cost of maintenance isn't really abnormal. You could use stuff from the hardware store on an aircraft, but the second that part is built in, it's no longer legally airworthy

Unsure if we should be judging presidents based on inflation/economy considering Forbes said the following "Voters usually punish presidents when the economy is poor and reward presidents when the economy is strong, but no matter who sits in the Oval Office, their actual power over economic conditions is limited. The pandemic-era recession and post-pandemic inflation binge were both worldwide phenomena. And while both Biden and Trump have touted lower gas prices at various points, the price often has more to do with supply and demand than government policy. Most importantly, the real kingpin of economic growth and inflation arguably isn't the president-it's the Federal Reserve chair.

When it comes to inflation, yes, it's worldwide but in some countries it's more than others. For example, in some countries, the inflation went up by 15% while the government there made cuts and increased interest rates now that they rebound from COVID recession. Same with some Asian countries. In the UK, inflation is at 25 to 30%. They increased spending and are still taking in a lot of immigrants and helping them first than their citizens. Here in the U.S, Biden just kept the oil and gas production the same prices went up due supply and demand. Demand went up but Biden and his administration didn't help out by increasing production. Inflation here went up but the federal reserve didn't increase rates. Government spending went up and so did taxes. A major reason why a lot were very angry this election is because they saw immigrants in New York, Illinois, Colorado, California, in major cities where they're self proclaimed to be "Sanctuary cities", the people saw the government there, the federal government, state, and local, giving the illegals money. They were given money, food stamps, housing vouchers (section 8 and hotels, even high end expensive hotels) were given to them while a homeless family with no criminal record either had to wait or outright denied. Many retirees couldn't make it anymore and some had to find work to cover the bills and food. For example, my mom, she only gets 950 in social security. That's it. The light bill, groceries, water, and her phone can't be covered anymore with her check. In 2019, she was able to save about 200 after paying the bills and she was making 880 in social security. But now, it increased to 950 but she still needs another 200 or so a month just to make ends meet. She can't save.

His tariffs are made with the intention of revitalizing the US industry. For example the Chinese were opening a massive car factory in Mexico (taking jobs away from the US) and Trump merely hinted at a 200% tariff and all work ceased. This is not to mention that US, historically relied only on tariffs. The IRS is unconstitutional, and with Trump in charge you might even see a complete cessation of taxation in some areas.
