I think Landale's deal also isn't guranteed past the first year. Cheap, easy to move. And if they don't want him on the team, they can just tell him to buzz off with no strings attatched.

Thoughts on the Kings re-signing Harrison Barnes to 3 yrs/$54 million? This contract seems to be dividing the Kings fanbase. I think it's a good value for money, but I'd be curious to hear more from people outside the Kings fanbase.
@erenjager469811 ай бұрын
He's a productive player on a good team and he has championship experience right? Seems like a good deal to me.
@iankinzel11 ай бұрын
@@erenjager4698 Agreed, I'm just finding a lot of other fans are really down on Barnes after having kind of a rough playoff series against the Warriors this spring. I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing, or...?
@joshuaharris503211 ай бұрын
@@iankinzelI’m a Kings fans and a lot of kings fans who aren’t being doomers about it feel that it’s an insurance signing. Barnes helped us to our playoffs even with having a rough series. So, it’s a culture signing. Additionally, he’s still a savvy offensive player, capable defender and respected vet. Those are really valuable qualities that a lot of players just don’t have. Keegan Murray still needs to be mentored and grow as a player. The consensus is that it would be a good idea to have Barnes for depth while he’s still experiencing growing pains. Also also, we addressed some of our issues that were exposed from the playoffs through the offseason moves we made. We really need a rim protector and serviceable backup for Sabonis. That’s not Barnes’ fault. He also wasn’t the only player who had a rough series. If the organization was to remove players that disappeared during the first round we’d be without Barnes, Sabonis, and Huerter. It just makes sense to retain him.
@sp394911 ай бұрын
That’s a good contract! Kings need Barnes production and rebounding capabilities.

@ckq11 ай бұрын
I got a lot of the same opinions as MDJ, so imma say B. He definitely regressed this season with the Hawks where he'd deserve more like 20-25M/year based on his current performance, but he showed to have all-star potential in SAS when the team is built around him and the salary cap is rapidly increasing. Worst case scenario, the DejounTrae paring doesn't work out the next 2 years and they blow it up for multiple firsts like the Jazz did with Mitchell and Gobert (ironically with Quin Snyder as the coach as well).

I think the biggest reason why a team didn't offer a better contract to Austin Reeves, it was the Gilbert Arena's rule, the last year of such contract would haven assinanine for any team looking to compete, even if Austin Reeves is worth the 90m/4 years
@KTDama11 ай бұрын
Hornets fan: I cannot tolerate this DSJ disrespect. Our only player who could consistently attack the rim, gave some P&R passing, & was one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Huge loss for Charlotte who really needs a backup guard when LaMelo is hurt.

well.... considering that Austin Reaves was basically the Lakers' third option and especially so in the Post Season... neither the $1.5m contract he was on before, nor his new contract seem "lucky" to me.. for Austin they are, of course... but in terms of the Lakers and the league as a whole, it just shows what kind of gems and talent can be found in undrafted players... every other team had the chance to draft/sign him since all their scouts knew who he was.. Lakers took the chance and Austin took advantage of the opportunity when fate offered him first team minutes... in years past you might call that "lucky"... but when a 41st pick 2xMVP leads his team of non All Stars and "busts" to a ring.. playing the Finals against a team of 7 undrafted players and lead by a 30th pick... it seems, to me at least, that at some point along the way scouts and organizations have lost their ability in choosing Basketball players and building teams.. or even forgot what MAKES a young athlete a BASKETBALL player... both in terms of skill and even more in terms of personality...

As a raptors fan in my opinion the development on this team past 2020/21 has not been great(since Jama left to the warriors). Thats why the coaching staff has been replaced with high development guys like a Darko Rajakovic pat Delany, and bringing back Jama Mahlalela.

I'm so confused, how is Russ not a good fit with the Clippers? Hell, before he even signed with them everybody was saying he would be a perfect fit with the Clippers. We always say Russ is at his best with the ball in his hands and that's exactly whats going to happen with them. He's playing with two superstars that don't need the ball in their hands that long to produce. Also, how is spacing the problem? So PG13, Kawhi, Powell, Morris, and Convington isn't spacing? This team never needed another shooter, they needed a guy that can run the offense. I agree with you that the Russ resigning is definitely an A+, that's an extremely cheap deal for a former MVP who can still produce. But you definitely just wanted to throw in some random jabs at Russ there.

By your logic on Jaxson Hayes and minimum contracts he’s a B-. I’ve watched his entire career and every skill aspect of basketball minus perimeter defense Hayes is a no show in those aspects. Screens, rebounding, defending the rim, etc. bro is not a good player and will sabotage the lakers bench(atleast their defense)
@verward11 ай бұрын
I don't fucking get why the Rockets even want Brooks. Are going to compete for a title? Obviously not right. Why invest in a player like this. Brooks should be the fourth best player on a contender. He should bring defensive depth, not be the best defensive player on a team. He is not gonna make the Rockets a good defense by himself and he has obvious flaws on offensive. If all decisions are taken out of Brooks' hands and there is a really strong PG, he can be a good spot-up shooter, but that's not gonna happen in Houston. Did they get him just to trade him to the 76ers for harden or something?
