When I was 16 my boss had me running nights pulling a vibra shank in a 120 acre field and it was a old home place in the middle so there was trash in the middle! I was on a no cab 1370 case dual wheel and it was dry, hot and dusty as hell! I would come to my corners and I would have to let the dust go by or I couldn’t see a dam thing! I was getting closer to the middle of the field and I guess I came a little close to the trash pile! I went all the way around and looked at a freakin ditch, so I stopped and it was a dam old bed spring hung up in all of the teeth! Dam, took me two hours to get it untangled and two hours to straighten up what I screwed up with that dam bed spring! lol I would get off at 7:00 in the morning and I was so dam black from the dust sticking to me!! I had to wear a bandanna so I was spitting up mud! That was the good old days I guess! lol good video brother, you take care my friend!

Just buy the app radarscope. It’s raw radar every minute you will be able to see if the 50% chance rain will actually hit you and how hard. It’s really handy. It helped me out when I was on the roof and some weather started to roll in and I knew if I had to get off or if it was good for a few more minutes to finish. Also gives lighting and tornado

If I'm on a roof, all I need is my ears, because the first clap of thunder I hear, I'm coming down. Believe it or not, people have been struck and killed by lightning from a storm that's 20 miles away.

Chris, is this a good way for someone new to learn the basics of how the dozer works and how to push dirt. If i am correct, you are not cutting and filling to a precise measurement, just cutting the top layer of junk out like you said

Curious and wondering Chris... what's more efficient a grader vs dozer when grading a field?

Since the grade isn't critical the dozer is more cost efficient, graders are expensive to haul around (oversized load permits) and such.

Someone must have a pot of money, dozier hours are expensive. A four wheel drive tractor with a leveling blade would be much cheaper to run and you can go faster. Yes, I have thousands of hours doing that. If you are are contouring you use a construction laser and program in the contours. With GPS input you just drive around and the blade goes up and down putting dirt where it is needed. It is endlessly entertaining watching the blade drop dirt in the low places all by itself. There are GPS units that use a differential signal from a ground sending unit you set up to do both height and distance. They can be plumbed into a dozier blade if you need the extra push. You might look into that if you are doing a lot of this type of work.

Wow. Way to destroy productive farm land by chris. So by removing topsoil and exposing subsoil and mixing subsoil with remaining topsoil is the key to rehabilitating farmland? How about next time hook a field cultivator to a tractor and pull that across.
