Gradius III on the NES wouldn't have had anywhere near as much slowdown as the SNES version.

It's a funny thing how much more slowdown III had compared to II, but I guess it makes sense considering how early the former was released in the SNES' life cycle. They probably knew how to get more out of the Famicom considering it had been out for 3-4 years by then. We can dream though, right? At any rate, thanks for listening!

With those Gradius 1 and 2 AC hacks I think it's possible to revamp one of those games into a Gradius 3 demake. I would play that rather than the official SNES game.

Yep! A guy or a group named "Death" made "arcade-true" hacks of both NES Gradius games. Look for Gradius 1 and 2 AC hacks at romhacking.net The first one is especially great, with the ability to equip up to four Options and multi-directional scrolling in the Moai stage.

Man, this is amazing. Reminds me of all those summers I spent playing this at my parent's camper... Shame we had to sell that camper too. Would you be able to do a cover of Uncharted Territory (stage 10) too? That one was my favorite and I can't find a cover of that anywhere.

Thank you! Glad it managed to bring back some memories, and sorry you had to sell the camper. In regard to Uncharted Territory, I plan on doing some more Gradius arranges, and that one is definitely in the list. Highly overlooked song, and probably one of the best overall. It might be a while before I get around to it, though, especially since there are some others I want to do first, so unfortunately it won't be soon. It will happen, though!

***** Excellent taste! I've always been surprised at how ignored those tracks are as well, especially Heavy Blow; although, it was awesome to see it getting some love in Gradius ReBirth. I definitely plan on paying homage to those at some point, as well. Since we're on the topic, the stage 3 theme of Nemesis II for the Game Boy, Dodge, is also amazing. There really is a lot of great Gradius music!
