As a Liverpool fan i’m not inclined to side with Chelski, but that was absolute robbery yesterday. Better side by a mile. What is VAR there for if not to catch stuff like hair pulling. It’s a joke. Too many people in control, who have never played the game.

I as a Spurs fan have to say I agree, we got stomped and I'm not complaining about the fact we pulled of the heist if the century for a point, did it at Leicester, did it at Ajax, did it at Chelsea. We have had so many times we've been robbed by ref's or VAR but if we don't all hold it to the same standard then we can't expect it to improve. It's purpose is to overturn wrong decisions or to have the referee review previous incidents. If it wasn't doing that then WHAT WAS IT DOING??? Still, believe it or not it wasn't just Spurs getting away with stuff, felt like the ref was almost overcorrecting his bias from the noise of the bridge because so many times he made terrible calls and it happened for both sides. Still I don't want to entirely blame him because once again WHERE IS VAR???

Although I agree Chelsea were the better team by a mile & deserved to win, but VAR doesn't step in to correct all decisions within the game. The hair pulling was checked for violent conduct, which it isn't as per the current law. I think, the Richarlison decision was a definite offside though, because the keeper has to factor in a deflection from Richarlison before diving for the original shot.

Chelsea were by far the best side . I thought it would be a closer match and as a spurs fan I’ve no problem saying that. As for the ref , I see why Chelsea fans are calling him out . On the flip side Chelsea should have taken their chances and missed a couple of sitters . Spurs weren’t lucky, they just didn’t give up . If Chelsea had defended the Kane goal properly they’d have won . A good point for us away .

You cant blame the ref for missing the hair pulling, if you watch the replay from behind the goal you can see he's looking at the ball at the near post. The blame goes to VAR for not checking it and advising the ref to go over to the monitor. That being said Chelsea did fail to defend the corner. The first goal is a clear offside, Mendy has his weight on his left leg having to look around Richarlason, who's directly in the vision of the keeper, the ball goes to his right which is why hes so slow to dive as he has to redirect his weight to go the oppersite direction. Plus the minute Richarlason moves his body so the ball goes around him he becomes active which is what I thought was the rules of offside.

For me it's like saying that West brom are now title contenders because they beat Chelsea 5-2 and drew 3-3. Tottenham's signings are average at best, the players they had prior are average at best, and they've just done very average against Chelsea. Baffles me that people are hyping them up this much

I don't understand how any of the Spurs goals can be determined to be favours from Anthony Taylor or there's been an Anthony Taylor agenda against Chelsea in this game. The tackle on Havertz was questionable or a certain foul from the initial tv angle as I wondered how Bentancur had got away with that, however if you see the replays from the referee's angle its not a foul...clearly got the ball hence the play carried on. The Spurs goal that goes in 45 seconds later (if its going to be ruled out) has to be ruled out by the linesman or VAR for interference / obstruction from Richarlison. Neither of which happened so nothing to do with Anthony Taylor. Likewise the Cucurella / Romero incident is a foul / red card which I can only assume that Taylor hasn't seen as he's probably watching the flight of the ball, so again the referee has to be reliant on VAR. The fact that the replay of that incident was shown multiple times before the next corner was taken would suggest that VAR were checking it but they didn't invite the referee to check it himself via the monitor. Again... ultimately nothing to do with Anthony Taylor. If there are questions to be answered it's perhaps around VAR Spurs were fortunate for the point, Chelsea were unlucky not to take all three but that is football. As everybody knows these things tend to even themselves out over a season.

Thing is anthony taylor is ALWAYS involved when these things happen vs chelsea. Id wager that VAR notified him of all and he said no. Either that or it is actually the FA that plans these robberies in advance(which i believe). Why else would taylor be refereeing chelsea every time they have a big game knowing their past? There is something fishy here. Corruption can be found in any walk of life in every single country and society, but somehow professional english football is clean?? The serie a wasn't... The premier league isn't either and it is high time refs paid for their crimes
@johnharvey1786
@johnharvey1786 2 жыл бұрын
Cucurella was trying the face towards and hold the opponent rather than face the ball. This was outlawed some time ago. This was before Romero pulled him down so if the ref had seen it then it’s a penalty and then possibly then a red card for Romero for retaliation if it was deemed serious enough although Cucurella wasn’t hurt. James foul on Kane late on when already on a yellow was a close call for a second yellow not mentioned and Spurs didn’t make a fuss just got on with it. Chelsea also glossed over the push in the back of Kulu when they won the ball for their second goal and again no whinging from Spurs.

finally someone intelligent here! its shocking how many people actually think he hates chelsea. the reason he gets so many big games involving clubs such as chelsea is because he is such a good referee. that said, the romero incident shouldve been red. also the first spurs goal i honestly think stands. as for the goal (im a spurs fan so im going to be a bit biased) i personally believe should stand. richarlison is too far to have any impact and mendy has a clear line of sight to the ball. as for the foul i personally think its a great tackle and bentancur clearly gets the ball. its too far back to rule out tho.

@@thelittleowl1 it's probably not obvious from my post but I'm a Spurs fan too. I think football fans at times (not specifically Chelsea fans I must add) struggle to look at games objectively and likewise the incidents within games in isolation so come to the natural conclusion that there's an agenda in play due to some sort of history with a given referee. However that's not to say that all referee's are unbiased and honest in each game but I genuinely didn't see anything in this game that suggested Taylor was playing up and favouring Spurs over Chelsea. It would be interesting to see all the Taylor incidents that have impacted Chelsea in recent years listed in one place so the non Chelsea fans can make their own minds up.

Frankly, I don't understand the concept that it's talking about, if it's an offside then it should be an offside, no need to judge the goalkeeper's movement or anything else because when Sterling's goal last week was ruled out for offside then it was offside, we take it I think we should not use double standards in analyzing it anyway I'm just a fan who is proud to see the team continue to work hard to improve performance to get the results

Just so I get this straight, if pulling the hair of another player is not violent conduct, I can just pull the hair of any opposition player whenever I want if the referee isn’t looking at me? According to the rules pulling hair is not a red card offense so VAR cannot do anything about it and neither can they recommend the referee to give a foul or yellow card since that’s not their domain. Every player should now sneakingly pull opposition players’ hair when the referee is looking somewhere else. Ridiculous.

Violent conduct or, when using it to pull the player to the ground unexpectedly could easily be interpreted as endangering an opponent; both of which ARE red card offenses.

This morning, sky sports showed Mendy’s position to look at the ball. He had to lean to the left to be able to see the ball, reason it took to much time to lean to the right to make the stop and Richarlison moved to then right to hide the ball as it was going towards goal. Now tell me he wasn’t implied in the play and wasn’t offside. Check the goal from all angles before you make a decision.

As a spurs fan I can honestly say chelsea deserved to and shouldve won 2-0. There was a clear foul in the build up to the first goal and also an offside, Richarlison played the ball as it went past him. There shouldnt have been a retake of the corner for the second goal, it shouldve been a free kick to chelsea for the clear foul on cucarella. Happy with the free point though!!
@MisAnnThorpe

That was only a "clear foul" on Havertz if you're in favour of football becoming an ENTIRELY non contact sport. There was one camera angle which clearly showed that contact had been made with the ball. Richarlison didn't make any contact with the ball and had he done so would immediately of been given as offside.

Simon Jordan is 100% wrong. Richarlison is offside as the ball is shot. He is clearly obstructing the view of the goalkeeper for at least some time during the balls trajectory toward goal. Therefore he DOES have an impact from an offside position. That is as simple as it gets. Also it is clear some officials have an agenda against Chelsea, and it's more than likely some at the FA are complicit in this as they keep selecting this Referee to give unfair rulings against Chelsea.

Completely disagree with Simon Jordan especially when he said the cliche line: “Refs make bad decisions”…. I’m tired of hearing the same crap over and over again. Why was VAR brought in?? TO HELP REFS and other officials make better decisions. I’m convinced Anthony Taylor witnessed Cucurella getting his hair pulled but if he didn’t see it which is also acceptable as he is human and might’ve been paying attention to something else, it’s then VAR’s job to make sure that they tell Taylor that it’s a foul and a red card and that he can check the monitor if need be but VAR didn’t even do that. Stupid and incompetent officials.

The no action taken by either the ref or VAR regarding the hair pulling needs sorting out. Many people saying nothing was done because they weren't involved in the play due to the ball being nowhere near them. So what's to stop midfielders etc from going around pulling opponents by the hair during games when the ball is nowhere near them, will they be carded and fouls given? Everyone, regardless of which team you support would be shouting for a penalty if it was the other way around so why wasn't it called out as a foul and free kick to Chelsea? Be interesting to see how many players start pulling the hair and getting away with it until rules get changed!!
