That's definitely NOT the #1 ranked high school in the US if you want your child to receive a solid, well-rounded education. Lea-------KEEP YOUR BEAUTIFUL ACCENT !! You have no idea how important it will be throughout your life .
@stuartgillespie92353 сағат бұрын
Tell Lea, in the US accents of all types are commonly welcomed. In fact, tons of American's like foreign accents more than domestic ones.
@franksmith47303 сағат бұрын
This is a private *industrial athlete farm* school. There will be a ton of students getting athletic scholarships, no students will get academic scholarships, though. Basically rich parents (for the most part) send their kids to try and turn them into athletes.

Yep. This is how you get famous athletes under power families' control early on.

Tuition: For the 2024-2025 school year, tuition was around $89,900 for boarding students and $70,900 for day students. This is nearly twice what my daughter’s university costs.

I saw a video called a Day in the life of an American high school student. By Anthony Madsen. It is about the closest I've seen to a typical day in an American high School.

The #1 ranking part is referring to its sports program. It can be a top choice for student athletes who accel at their sport. I believe it is a boarding school and its design to emulate college life for student athletes.

There are quite a few videos on life in a more typical American High School. "Day in the Life at American Public High School" AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL || First Day, features an xchange student from Pakistan? Some of those schools are still quite amazing
@davidweiss87103 сағат бұрын
My wife is director for a international student exchange program and the kids think the regular high schools they go to are amazing when they come here and they are nothing like this. Of course this school is designed for the top 1% of high school athletes. It's about $70-90k a year to go here as well. Again it isn't the normal school.

Not the #1 ranked High school in any way... it is the best athletic factory in the US. Academically it is not even close to the top plus it is a private boarding academy. The place started as a tennis academy.
@BringOutTheLobster.3 сағат бұрын
How you gonna say it’s not number 1 in any way and then immediately say it’s the best athletic factory?😂 That’s what he meant by #1 ranked.
@Wvaspartan3 сағат бұрын
@ it isn’t the top ranked athletic school in any of the sports but if you are looking to go to an athletic fsctory that basically only cares about how many people they put in college athletics then yes go there.
@BringOutTheLobster.2 сағат бұрын
@@Wvaspartan maybe not at this exact moment. But the rankings change every game, and IMG is one of, if not the most consistently high ranked school. They are almost always top 5-10 in multiple sports. I’m not sure when this video was made, but last year their football team was ranked #1 for most of the year so that could be why it says #1

My junior high or middle school had a tiny shop to buy the school merch. I used to buy hats and T-shirts. The school in this video is a private elite sporting high school which costs $100K a year or something.

So i'm not an expert but I love American sports - and IMG is the biggest provider of sports' management services to professional athletes in the world. The agency works directly with professional athletes to manage their careers and essentially maximize their earnings potential across a variety of services. So I'm guessing - but because of the name - the agency built its own private high school to recruit young, talented athletes to launch their careers while completing high school. That way - IMG is working with the athlete from the beginning of their career. Contrary to people telling you that this is just a rich kids' prep school - this is actually the world's top sports agency cultivating young talent and then working with them over the course of their professional careers. Pretty smart if you ask me. By the way - IMG was recently bought out by the largest sports' rep agency - called Endeavor - which are the agents that actually represent the athletes (and artists) in their contract negotiations. Together - the two companies are a powerhouse in sports, music, and motion pictures. I think this high school is in Florida and the parent company is based in Beverly Hills. That's the place all these young athletes dream of getting to some day. Thanks for your reaction - very interesting to watch.

That high school cost per year costs 89,900 dollars if you live on campus or 70, 900 dollars if you don't live on campus, either way it's ridiculous.

The best part is that if Lea attends school in America, her accent will be a hit. Anyone with an accent automatically starts off with an icebreaker, which makes people want to help you out because they perceive you as new or engaging in the USA. Once you break the ice, making new aquatic friends is more effortless. Also, with an accent, people want to know more about where you are from and your country. It is a way for most Americans to see outside the country since we don't travel outside the US much.

Not gonna lie, as someone on the East Coast I find this so sad. I teach at schools in Pennsylvania and North Carolina that literally have books from 1983 and pulled up fields while this one has 6 baseball fields???? That’s insane that as a country you wouldn’t want all your schools up to date instead of separating the finances for education based off states
@thomasrichards62453 минут бұрын
I wouldn't support changing our whole political system to make the federal government in charge of schools nationwide, but I've often thought that states should pool all school funding and then assign each student the same exact amount, and that would follow them wherever they went to school. This would include money for regular academic classes, college prep and/or vocational classes and 1 or 2 activities (such as sports, arts, clubs, etc. Of course all the school supplies, lab fees, and lunches would be included. Then all schools' funds would be based on number of students in attendance and would fund schools more evenly. No more rich schools and poor schools. If people wanted to donate to sports funds or music funds, it would go in a pot to be shared evenly among all the schools in the state.

I cannot imagine how much the tuition is for that school. The tuition for the private high schools around my area start at $20,125 for the year and it isn’t half that nice.
@jamesoliver66253 сағат бұрын
IMG is solely focused on producing Division 1 quality athletes, which means these kids focus is to try to be a professional athlete. They receive better than adequate academic support since officially that is a requirement to any D1 university, however, to call IMG America's #1 ranked school, my first question is "Define #1". They can do this if they want, but know that there are a significant number of people who feel that these schools that operate much like residential universities that are focused on sports should only compete against similar facilities located about the nation but not within the local sanctioned High School leagues.
@cp368productions22 сағат бұрын
As the other comments say. This isn't a high school, and it's only #1 in price. It's like 50th or lower in everything that matters. Tell Lea to get her GPA to at least 3.0 and apply to Cornell University. She would love the area it's in. Or for $35k per year she can go to SUNY Geneseo. Also a great school, still in the Finger Lakes Region of NY which is the best part of NY. Scholarships possible which covers $8000 per year.

IMG isn't a High School it's a professional Academy Board school for athletes, more or less a cheaper College without being a college, which may have all the good stuff for some but overall has the poorest rank of overall skill's, TripAdvisor has them rated at 39% only 1-star satisfactory 👎🏻Dailey Mail has a write up about them saying out of 60 kids entering the Academy only 1 of them will stay, that's Not a great quality.
