His 22 PL matches at Chelsea were three points shy of Pochettino's record who turned it around in the second half of last season--who's to say Potter wouldn't have done the same?

It's just important the fans get behind him whether he is their first choice or not. We have an important part to play in this process and shouldn't get on his back too early. I know we are frustrated and impatient largely due to the board making a poor decision on signing the previous manager but we must manage expectations just a little this season at least.

He was good at set pieces, but his pace, tackling, heading basically all round game was not quick enough to keep up with the pace of those around him with our counter attacking play. It's a shame as I was very excited to get him.

Well his Brighton beat us regularly with the previous bunch of disappointing coaches so he shows some evidence of being able to get a group of players with a range of talent to perform together. His failure to get a dressing room packed to the rafters with egos and top talent to gel at Chelsea does cause me nerves but he cannot be any worse than the last two (he had Moyes' number on the pitch without a doubt) so let's see what the bounce in the dressing room is like.

Every manager can speak about what they want, what they hope for, what they expect the players to deliver etc ...unless it's delivered on the pitch, things won't change. Too many lazy, average players throughout our squad and they need a rocket up them to help us push on to at least finish mid table again. As an old bugger, the fa cup is always a tournament that excites me, despite it's down grading because of the champions league spots but we need to realise who we've got tomorrow and to hope we can at least compete.
