Grain Spawn without Soaking and Boiling? An Experiment to Find Out if it'll Work. Part 1 of 2

@maxlynn9877 asked a question the other day that got me excited to do a new experiment...is it possible to skip the soak and boil with grain spawn? I ran this experiment to find out.

I've only been pressure sterliizing my grain for only 25 minutes and doing around 50% water weight to grain works great and no contamination

What worked best for me so far relative to excellent moisture content and a lack of busted oats, was to boil water and then pour it over the oats in a 5 gallon bucket, put the lid on and let sit overnight. Dry the oats on a towel with a fan aimed at them for a couple hours or so, and then sterilize them as usual. Anytime I soaked in water 12 - 24 hours and then cooked for 15 min, I get busted oats.

Steep the oats in the water or just pour it over them and let the water drain to bottom and steam just comes up?

If you put the oats and water together into a 5lb bag and pressure sterilize it, you'll wind up with mold. I lost 200 lbs of grain spawn by short cutting the process. I now soak my oats for 24 hours then let them drain for an hour. After drained, I bag them and pressure cook them for 2.5 hours @15psi. The soaking Method opens the gain allowing for full pasteurization though and through. No more mold.

I lost hundreds of pounds too doing 3 to 5 pound bags of grain at 2.5 hours either no soak no simmer and the whole simmer and drain tek. But what it ended up being for me was the 2.5 hours... not enough time for 24 bags stuffed in a 100L autoclave.. so after trial and error fully loaded it needs 6 hours at 15psi. That's the only way every bag will work.. so the point of this try a No soak no simmer 5 pound bag for like 4 to 5 hours vs 2.5 you'll more then likely have success then.

I do 2 pounds oats 1.5 pounds water, and I rarely have an issue. I got the method and math from one of Midnight mushrooms videos. I even use a pneumatic gate valve to crank out bags from big bend mushrooms.

I've seen you mention ads before and I guess maybe you don't know, but KZbin automatically places ads on videos whether they are monetized or not. So just by uploading a video, it will have ads, the only difference is that you're not getting the money from your work... you're giving it all to KZbin (Edit) there's ads on my videos and I'm not monetized, but I haven't seen any ads on your videos yet. Is there a setting that I can totally remove ads that KZbin puts on my videos, where it can just be uninterrupted content?

Does your channel meet the monetization threshold? I think its still something like 4000 watch hours. If I understand correctly, we don't have control of the ads before crossing the threshold. (i.e. YT will just play the ads whether we want them to or not) For my channel, I can toggle the ads off. It's an option in one of the last screens while uploading, and I can also manage it from my Content tab in the Channel Dashboard.

I uploaded one video that got nearly 30k views, but apart from that, my recent videos and my channel have been shadowbanned because I have disseminated information about corruption that's not allowed on GoogTube

I tried this method back in January, and for some reason it cracked my jars near the base. It had never happened before or since using the old method.

Would love to hear how the next experiment goes! I tried with way less water and mine were way too try. They are colonizing just very very slowly and not sure if it’s ever going to colonize completely.
