It looked like for one flash or two it was just the passenger side indicator. But I notice this a lot as well in sim, people will indicate where they want you to go rather than where they are going which on the track makes more sense in most situations.

Could be just me but I think he simply turned on his hazard lights, rather than indicate one direction. Looked that way to me on my phone anyway! You are however right about the direction a person should indicate towards. Great example is the Nordschleife for tourists, many slower cars stick to the right or left, and indicate toward that same direction, as to let faster cars know that they are sticking to that side, allowing them to pass.

I actually had a problem with indicating in this race. Some point in the middle I was at the end of a stint and had a car on fresh tyres gaining on me. After coming out of the chicane I moved over to the right and started indicating since I didn't want him to get desperate and go for a dive, so I hugged the inside as I turned in to try and make my intentions as clear as possible. As the corner was straightening out I moved over to the left slightly as I was accelerating and he still tried to go up the inside. Even though it seems contradictory (and it's probably worse if you drive irl), if you clearly show with your car where you want the other person to go like Mario did, it's fine. There aren't many situations where you can't understand the context of someone indicating.

Being a wheel user for so long on gt sport and PC, I always forgot that most people are still racing with their controllers. Its very evident by their throttle smoothness in replays. The throttle curve on Sport is trash anyways with it not being linear at all, but controller users seem to be more erratic with throttle inputs. For example the Blue WRX.

I THINK, if someone is being passed, they should stay on the line they're currently on. If I'm doing the overtaking, I will be the one to move off the line and around the slower car. So I THINK the slow car should indicate to the side he wants the faster car to pass. So just like a normal pass in a fight for position, but there's just co-operation instead. Just my thoughts, I'm not 100% sure one way or another.

Manned up and did my first Maunfacturer’s Cup today, Gr4 at Nurb, B/S lobby. Qualified 3rd, almost finished 2nd if not for a dirty Viper driver, cost me a 2 second penalty, finished 5th. Not a bad start, I’ll take it 😄

i won the race (in d rated lobby :O) by doing a S/M/S/H Strat. Attacked in first stint, come in the pit as second, come out as 3rd with 5 seconds gap. after the stint had 1 sec gap (dont know why the aston didnt overtook me into the first corner, he could have done that 4 laps in a row) going to the soft and the gap to 2nd was 4 seconds and get him cause im on the better tyre, and last lap the hard tyre i overtook the first. With the Toyota FT1, still only got 6 Points for that, cause d rated lobby :(

Oh mr. Super GT, you are bleesed with only international spec sausages. The real ones that are on every public road are far worse, and blocky. Also the ammount of 90 degree rectangular speed bumps and a foot high chicanes is insane here. We do have a space program.

This games penalty system IS so fucking broken. I was Leading a race and i drived The corner vide on Sao Paulo The long right hander and The game gave me 2 SEC Time penalty and then somebody crashed at me and got penalty again and rage Quito and My rating drobbed from A to D

13:11 I don't quite know but I think it really isn't a feature GT Sport is wanting you to use, but yeah I don't use it. Because that's not racing. And I don't think there are any blinkers on the Super Formula car.

Agree with what you said about the indicator thing. I also believe it's more natural to use them as you would in regular driving. But Mario was using the hazard lights there, which I'd assume is a way of saying "please don't kill me".

indicators change depending on where your race is. nurburgring 24 pre-race driver's briefing will say indicate where you want your follower to go, American endurance races will say indicate where you intend to steer your own car.

Mario did neither indicate where you should be going nor where he will be going. Watching the scene once again he had his hazard lights on, probably accidently. Nevertheless a nice move from you and nothing bad happening there.

I once activated the right indicator in GT Sport while racing in the Nordschleife to try to signal some guy who was behind me and was a lot faster to pass me on the right. He didn't get it and instead crashed into me. Yeah... that's not good communication

At 13:08 you are right, he should have indicated left because he lets you go right. That signal means, like irl, that he "goes" left and lets you go to the right and overtake him. In the end it's important that you understood his signal, even though it was the wrong one

The blinker signal on the right means you are clear to take over from the right. It will depend if you are behind one car or in front of the car and you do the signal.
