Ive just made this in a cream with brown and black flecked aran, its come out absolutely stunning, I was going to make it for my sister but Ive decided I love it too much. Such a brilliantly clear tutorial and a super easy hat that looks complicated but just isn't. Love it. Thankyou for this one.

Really like this pattern, Thank You! My opinion, the brims look better if you use 1 size smaller hook and create your chain and FP/BP DC like you did on Row 5. imo it looks better and its less notable when you complete the first row after the brim.

Thanks for all you do. I'm disabled, and have lots of hours to fill every day, so I make a couple hundred hats for charity a year, and I quickly got tired of trying to make my own patterns (I get bored easily, and don't like making the same thing ). I'm so thankful for people like you who do all the work to give these wonderful patterns to us for free. Even though I've been crocheting for many years, I also appreciate how easy you make things so that new crocheters can feel that sense of accomplishment when they learn a new stitch.

I tend to have have a looser tension. I guess I also have a smaller head. I think I'll make another one with 68 stitches rather than 72 and I also will decrease the height of the front post back post alternating rounds by one row each. The way this original pattern worked for me, it gave me a more slouchy hat (which is still gorgeous) but I also want a fitted one. This pattern took me 3 hours. Boy was the ninth stich on the back loop slip stitch a killer! I just couldn't put it down once I started, it was really fun. Thanks for the tutorial.

Why not give the sizes for men and children right up front? Like I have to watch up to what point to get the stitch multiple for men? I don’t have time for that nonsense.
@lauragabriel5526
@lauragabriel5526 Жыл бұрын
You may have figured it out, or not. She states that if you want it smaller or larger, the stitch count for the main part of the beanie will be multiples of 2. For the band, you could measure it up for the person you're making it for our use a hat that has the band fit that you'd like . The 16"- 17" that she's making is about an average adult size. Hope that helps! 🙃

You stated I would need "about" 200 yards of yarn. I have yarn I want to use but it is 197 yards. I looked up woolease yarn and it is 197 yards per skein. Did you have any yarn left to make the pom pom? Or did the about 200 yards include a pom pom?

So it looks like when you are doing your foundation single crochet row into the slip stitch ribbing you are just connecting in to the valleys? It looks really good proportion wise on your hat. I think I'll try that for my next toque :)

The final design looks really good but this runs a bit smaller. I even increased the brim of the hat. It still doesn’t seem to fit over my head. Also, I think the multiple of 2 instruction when increasing is wrong? I increased the single crochets to 74 and when I got to the decrease row there were problems. I’ve done other patterns from rich textures and they turn out great. But I’ve wasted too much time trying to make this pattern work. I think something is wrong .
@RichTexturesCrochet
@RichTexturesCrochet Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. I will double check the multiples. I recommend checking your gauge for the sizing, different yarns and everyone’s individual tension will affect the sizing

On the written pattern, it says for the gauge that 15 sts x 9 rows of front and back double crochet = 4 inches. What is front and back double crochet? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I guess I’m an advanced noob, lol. At first I thought it was fp/ bp dc but I think I’m wrong.

If using a single crochet rather than the slip stitch for the brim, what does it change, if anything? I have a weird sized yarn (it's not a 4 but not a 5 but says it's a 5 bulky - it's closer to a 4). But the yarn recommends a 6mm hook. I sized up to use a 5.25mm hook instead because it was a bit easier to use with this sized yarn. It was super hard to see the stitches and work with them in the slip stitches.
