Thanks for the recipe! I don't like alcohol for many reasons, so is there any alternative?

You can put these herbal ingredients in soups. Some Asian supermarkets sell combinations of herbs in a packet to make different kinds of soups. You should consult a qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner or Chinese herbal store personnel to see which herbs work for your health situation. Thanks for checking out my video on Grandpa's Chinese herbal Health Drink.

Damn son, you spent about $100 on those herbs. Wheww....😮 - I'm African American, but i love Chinese culture. I go to the Chinatown here in Brooklyn. Here, you can get those things a bit cheaper. Our Chinatown has all those herbs, they sell them in packages of which i see you bought. But they also have them loose which can save me a ton of money because you can buy for just a small batch. I wouldn't know what to do with the leftover stuff i didn't use. My cabinets 2 years ago was filled with unused Chinese sauces, herbs and seasonings and i knew i had wasted over $500 on stuff i would never use again. Most were experimental. Now i shop smarter in Chinatown and save big bucks.

Great to hear you're into the Chinese culture. What do you make with the herbs that you buy? This store has the loose herbs in the front and outside, but they just bag up the same herbs and charge a lot more. But the odd time if you buy the loose herbs and ask them them to seal in the bags, they will do it. Is the chinatown in Brooklyn conisdered one of the 3 chinatowns in New York, or is that another chinatown. Thanks for commenting and thanks for checking out my video.

@ChineseCookingChannel I usually buy Chinese herbs to make tea and use anything to clean my blood, liver and kidneys. I haven't bought some in a long time. Chinatown here in New York is an adventure. No matter how much you think you know the place, there's always something new. Always some new fruits or vegetable I have never seen before. And the fish markets here are CRAZY. If you can name the fish, Chinatown has it. It's a wonderful place. You have to dedicate an entire day because all I do there is explore and explore. If you ever come to NYC, you have to visit our Chinatown's. And their all different. Chinatown in Manhattan is mostly Cantonese, Chinatown in Queens is more Manderin. And the one in Brooklyn is a mix of both. And they're all super cheap.

I make a similar medicinal drink at home. I start with gin, add a little gin and then a lot of gin. When it gets low, I'll top it off with gin.

This is great. This particular recipe that you used is for general health, or more specific health concerns? I would love to learn what herbs to use for T2 diabetes.

This recipe is more for general health. The ingredients are quite common but I still advise anyone trying them should check the individual ingredients in terms of allergic reactions and side effects. You should consult a trained Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner for advice. Often, they have trained personnel in stores such as the one in my video or they can refer you to someone. Thanks for checking out my video. Wishing you all the best in the New Year.
